Hi, after weeks of waiting (german customs...) im glad i can finally post my first saber.:D

I used MHS parts only besides the selfmade cover in the lower part of the saber, the EL-wire and the carbon-foil.
It has a blue K2 powered by 4AAA bateries.
since i had to use a separate batterie-pack for the El-wire i installed 2 red LEDs as low power-indicator, upper is for the blade, lower for the wire.

Still thinking of a name... maybe "Raptor", because the carbon foil looks a bit like scales and it has one claw...

great saber. the carbon foil looks great. What is carbon foil and can a whole hilt be made out of it (is it strong)?

@ Vadeblade: the foil i used was produced for cars and is only for decorative purpose, it has only a small layer of carbonfibre. if u use real carbonfibre-plates (which are used for example to build F1-race-cars) it would be very durable and might work to construct a hilt, it would be very difficult though, lots of special glue is needed...

@ Kal El Rah: yes it is ^^ i thought it might be better looking than putting it on the floor ;)

Very nice, as above the carbon in the grooves is a novel approach, might have to nick that idea, and sith it! RED BLADE!!!!!

A red blade would be sweet, but then you would have to change the EL wire, which I imagine would be a pain in the ass. Nice work, but how do you keep the claw from spinning?

to change the wire from blue to red is possible and not so difficult, just takes some time ^^
i tried it with glue... that only worked on 2 of 3 pllaces and only 3 days, so i think i have to drill another hole into the claw/emitter

I assume the EL wire is the glowing blue strips onn the bottom end of the hilt correct?

Great looking saber BTW

Using red El wouldn't have as nice an effect. It's the way the light is dispersed & seen by the human eye... yadda yadda yadda....

Very nice hilt BTW!!

Nice job.

I think that is the only other hilt (after one of mine) that has EL wire in a grenade-type section, that I have seen. And we both did blue!
