Either two 700ma buckpucks wired parrallel, or use a special driver board such as Cryatal Focus or one of the upcoming other driver/soundboards. Oh, and I suppose you could use a resistor too....

who uses resistors anymore :p

thanks but don't you lose some brightness with resistors?or do you just not get a constant current?

would i be able to use a resistor and and buckpuck so i can run it at 1500 ma with the resistor and have the constant current of the buck puck or would they interfere with eachother?

resistors make it so you don't have a constant brightness, as the battery is drained its output voltage lowers, and the resistor only provides dampening of current, so as the battery drains the LED dims.

Two buckpucks at 1400mA is close enough. You won't notice/miss the brightness diference.

hmm i think its just easier to order a rebel from Ledtech

It's really not hard to wire two buckpucks together. If I can do it, you can do it.

There's a thread around here somewhere showing what it looks like. It's a no-brainer.

{BLINK}{BLINK} UM...... What's a resistor?

HA ha ha haha

yeah i know it wont be too hard to wire two buck pucks, but for thr price of the k2 led,the two buck pucks, plus shipping... it would be easier and less expensive to just go with a lux rebel from led tech

Maybe to you it is....when I looked into ordering from them, the shipping was $50 for a $12 order....so I skipped it....

The dual 700mA puck setup works very well and is not very expensive. Also, pucks drive the LED more efficiently than just the resistor. Xwing is right too, you wont notice the difference between 1400 and 1500.

led tech has reasonable shipping, it would be less expensive and less hassel to go through led tech i think

I'd listen to them, I did a bit of research, and shopping around you could maybe produce a saber for a few bucks less, but the savings are negligable, especially when you factor in that TCSS caries only the stuff we need, it's real easy to order something from bulk suppliers and then not get what you were expecting.

oh i know i always order everything from TCSS,i just liike the luxeon rebels tho, but i might go with a k2 will see

Their shipping is pretty picky... sometimes I have to play with it a bit to get the weight right to get the cheapest shipping. One part over and they do bump you to the high shipping.

Ok, heres a really dumb question, please don't yell at me, but could you get 1500ma from wiring 3x500ma micropucks?

Sure, but micropucks aren't constant current. They vary a bit depending with the voltage. They'd be nicer than a resistor, but not 1500mAh all the time.

k i added it up first k2- 15 x 2 700 ma buck pucks-$30
k2 led - $9.00
Lens- $2.00
shipping- $20.00

Grand total- $61.00 CAN dollar
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Luxeon Rebel- from Led Tech/Led supply.com

Led on PCB -5.99-euro
lens - 2.90 Euro
shipping-5.90 euro
VAT-2.54 euro

Converted to Canadian-$25.43 CAN

Buck puck 1000 ma from led supplyr-$14.99
shipping - $10.00

Grand Total- $50.42 Canadian dollar

This is conveted in to Canadian funds, it would be a little more less for US customers
