Mongrel sound font

yes, yes - more Mongrel... you either can't get enough or it's getting old already ;)

In the spirit of the name Mongrel, I decided to make a sound font based on it. I approached this one a little differently: instead of trying to match what I had in my head, I just played around until I got something that I liked... I'm particularly proud of the hum - it's kind of a low-pitched "rawlrawlrawlrawl"...

yes, there is a force sound, and it's cool too, but it's dagamn near impossibly to trigger it with this set-up... hind-sight 20/20 crap...

Nice sounds, it has a real monster sort of growl to it, and I can see why people are reminded of Daleks.
Hmm... if I ever finish my Star Trek based soundfont I'm sure there's enough suitable sounds to try a Dr Who one.

I had the idea of a classic science-fiction sound font... I guess kind of like the classic series. also, lost in space, buck rogers, flash gordon, but that ended up being too much thought for one day...

LOL! Thanks. I got the process down, it's smoother now. This took me about a day and a half.

also, know what I discovered? the "Sith" poweron/off sounds (similar to blackstar) are actually the same thing, only in reverse... cool, eh?

Actually, MANY of Ben Burtt's powerons and offs are indeed "reversals" of the sounds. Makes sense. ;)

Although some are not exactly like that. Take (for example) the Yoda/Qui-Gon-ish or whatever poweron. I used it for Novastar. Reversing it doesn't yield... what you'd expect.

But yup... the "older" power ons and off are indeed mirrors of one another...

this would be cool actually for the blaster core maybe an old fashion laser gun or something. i told my cousin about the blaster core when i first heard about it and well lets just say as a big treky he totally wanted one so that he could have a working phaser i thing they are called lol. OUr family reunions are duels of nerdyness...
