Hey everyone. Here is my lightsaber hilt design.

http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k196/jedimasterrune/Untitled-2copy-1.jpg

I have already began to make this. Things i have gotten are:

1) 1-1/4" x 12" Chrome sink tube.
2) 1-3/4" PVC Pipe

I have made the PVC pipe into the different shapes need for the hilt. I have chromed them out to the sink tube. Some parts of the sink tube will be gold/chopper.

What i am wondering is how long of an complete LED Blade i need for this hilt. Also if anyone could help me understand a little bit more how i am going to come about in making this possible.

Here's a list of the possible stuff i need.

1) 1-1/8" Chrome end cap
2) Complete LED "TCSS style" Battle blade / not sure on the length?
3) 11 colored discs
4) Screw on LED/blade holder. / Would this fit the 1-1/4" x 12" Chrome sink tube.
5) Luxeon K2 Electronics Kit.

Please let me know what else i need. Also here is some pics of the project.

Nice design! You want this:

http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/125-Sink-tube-LEDBlade-holder--P269.aspx

As for blade length, I'd sa either go 32", 34" OR 36", its personal choice really. Is there a specific color you want? Color discs are good for swapping colors on the move, and obtaining many other colors, so you would want the white luxeon K2 kit

Hope this helps :D

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the P4 brighter than the white K2?

It is, but on the other hand, buying just a kit is less complicated.

also could the blade be disassembled for costume use?

You could use a set screw or a thumb scew to make the blade removable. Once you do that you will end up with a really bright flash light. I carry mine on night walks. ;)

The srew-on LED blade holders won't fit a 1 1/4" tube with out one of these:
http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/MHS-to-15-sink-tube-adapter--P162.aspx

The 1 1/4" tube will fit inside the adaptor, with a little bit of work. You might be better off though, with this one:
http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/125-Sink-tube-LEDBlade-holder--P269.aspx

That blade holder is made to fit inside the 1 1/4" sink tube, giving you a bit more freedom in creating a custom looking emitter.

The kit Malaki refers to is simply an electronics kit. This one to be exact:

I am wondering does the kit come with any sound when you turn it on and off. I want like a Darth Mual style lightsaber sound.

Nope, no sound unless you get a sound board, the most common choice would be either salvaged MR sound boards OR Hasbro sound boards, there are others, look under "Saber Sound"
