Hey everyone.
Well here is my first sink tube Saber. It uses a MR Jedi soundboard, A Rebel RGB and a Color select rotary switch.
Enough of that here are the pics and Vid.

Great minds think a like... I have a sink tube verion with the joe-jedi board sitting next to me. I just have to the excess of the top and it's done.

Did you just sand the plastic and use all the goodies? That's what I did. :)

Oh nice

If you could get your hands on a bunch of joe-jedi's, you could make a bunch of sabers that your friends could use, and they could be any color

Would be great for outings to the park.

Random person: Hey, do you have any more of those sabers?
You: Yeah sure, I have a trunkload.

Fun for everybody!

Why do you need Joe Jedi's. I did this with about $60.00 worth of TCSS parts and a standard MR Board that cost me $35.00.

Hey grayven i really like your sink tube saber,im just wondering if there would be anyway we could get some pictures or a video with a blade in your sink tube saber,im dying to see the rebel, and is the rebel fully driven to the max?

thanks

All I will add here is that a Rebel "fully driven" (or at least, to the manufacturer's specs) would require at the very LEAST... 9.2v. More like 10v while under a driver's load!

This is waaaaaaay too much voltage for an FX board to handle, and so--the Rebel would need to be handled separately of the FX board.

And that *IS* a possibility when driving a saber... you could focus on:

* Circuit #1 = the FX board being for sound and maybe some indicators (3.6v to 6v max)
* Circuit #2 = Your "high current" LED setup... be it RGB Rebel, Lux V, P7 or whatever. (voltage and current DRAW varies greatly here)
* Switch = DPDT. Or, you could do two switches for fun... one for light, one for sound. So... you could technically "kill the volume" if need be all in one saber.

Anyhow... I think it's a good idea. :)

hmmm makes sense thanks nova, do you know how much ma the ultra board puts out?

That all depends on the setting selected. The Ultrasound v1.0 had different settings for different leds. It drove each led to its's maximum, i.e. a K2 got 1500ma, a Lux V got 700ma, etc.

I got something I'm working on right along the same lines as this. SO when I'm done I post a vid with both sabers with blades. Hopefully the end of this weekend. I have an appointment Sunday with a Lathe.

The Rebel would only be close to fully powered while only firing one of the LED's (mostly just the Red because of the less forward voltage required). Once I start mixing I start under driving the LED's on the Rebel.

awesome thats graven.

can this be done tho Ultra sabers sound board, rgb rebel with the Blue and red only to make purple by using a dimming resistor on the red

700 ma buck puck on red 1000 on blue ??? ive been told that the ultra saber board can be ran at any ma or more than one ma so can this work or will i over load the board?

these are the optics im going to use http://www.ledsupply.com/db-opml-3-025.php

hey nova thanks for the info it really helped.

heres my what im thinking of doing, either a prolight rgb or rgb rebel, with one of the colors attached to my ultra sound board and the other color not attached to the sound board but attach both leds to the same switch, is this possible?

or would i need a second switch no matter wat like you said? just to remind u im making a red and to make a nice purple

so wat do you think??
