Rebel Star optics

Hi Guy's,

I've been browsing for high power LED's and I came across the following Rebel Stars:

What sort of optics would I need for these? Would the ones in the store suffice?

Any of the OPTICS in the store are fine. It's the holder that needs to be gotten. Carclo makes a holder that works I believe Future Electronics the main luxeon distributor has them.

Thats cool. I didnt notice they where selling them in star format. I have optics/holders that will work for those. I will add them to the site..send me a E-mail if you dont see them up by the end of the day and remind me please.

How is the height difference going to be made up? or is that up to us? I just cut and itsy bitsy piece of thin PolyC like a c-clip and put it in the blade holder and that takes up the slack.

Xwing where do you put the thin piece of PolyC to take up the slack?

In MHS emitters there is a lip that normally stops the blade and puts pressure on the optic. Rebels focal point is shorter so the over height of the optics and holder is shorter. I put the piece on the underside of the lip.

Have you used the stars Xwing? I know on the rectangle boards they are a lot shorter but I have not tried one using a star yet which looks thicker.

I just noticed the lumens they are quoting are not that great compared to what is available already. And at $10 plus shipping from Germany they don't look like much of a deal.

Since we don't currently stock Rebels I do not want to have the optic visible on the store and deal with the many E-mails I would get about it. You can order one via this link though. They are the standard 20mm size with a tight patterned optic. When used with those rebel stars I think there should not be any space issues when used with the MHS parts but I am not positive.

I haven't used the stars, but even if they're the standard thickness the holders that Carclo makes are about 2mm shorter than the normal Luxeon ones.

Thank god for that I was going mental trying to find the holders in europe.
