Newbie needs saber parts validation

Hi,

I am trying to assemble a double-sided saber. However, I am completely new to saber building and I don't know much about electronics . I have been reading the forums, but I'm still confused :confused:about what exact parts I need. I'd be fantastic if anyone can answer my questions so I can get my saber order asap.

1. What are "complete blades" like the "LED Corbin style Battle blade"? What is included in a complete blade set?
2. I also saw the "Luxeon 3w driver V2 (Momentary)". Is that a driver board for the LED? If I buy a driver board, would that be wired to where the resistor/BuckPuck would be otherwise? What functionality does it have? Would a SPST Momentary Guarded switch work with the driver (what's the difference bwteen a latching switch vs a momentary switch)?
4. Is a 4AAA battery holder going to fit in a MDS connector?

Finally, can anyone be so kind as to review my design & wish list and make sure that I have the right compatible parts, current, voltage, etc? Am I missing any screw?

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think the switch placement would put it right where the LED optics would reside. It is also where the screw threads for the ribbed section and blade holder is. So the switch needs to be moved down (towards the pommel).

Cheers,
v.

What is the M/M adapter for? Planning on making this a double bladed saber some day? I also agree with Vadeblade, you should always leave a little over 1/2 in on the female side of any MHS piece for the threads. The only easy place for your switch is somewhere on the 3" extension.

Thanks for the suggestion. What about my wishlist? Do I have all the compatible parts needed to build it?

Thanks,
Ken

If this is the look you are after for the grooved section,

You need to email Tim first, before you place your order. He needs to lathe the powder-coating off afterwards, and this is an additional fee.
