IT FINALLY GOT HERE

First off this is a beautiful kit but always count in the USPS to not pay attention to stickers on packages

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04000.jpg

Other than that the package was in good shape

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04001.jpg

Very well packaged

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04002.jpg

Here is the paper work on it

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04003.jpg

I like the helmet but made the mistake of dropping it on my head to fast just to find out the opening on the bottom would not let my ears back out of the helmet.

and the electronics for the helmet

The armor is made for a bigger person that is for sure so it will fit nice once together. here are a couple of more shots

Ok I figured I would cut some of the armor that needed pieces taken out.

First the backpack, the directions call for a 4X4 hole in the back to get at the electronics, mine ended up being a little bigger but thats cool as it all still lines up.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/cutouts/DSC04069.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/cutouts/DSC04071.jpg

The front on the pack it said to just cut out the 2 pieces for the windows I
went to the inside of the inside of the line to try and make the graphics line up right.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/cutouts/DSC04083.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/cutouts/DSC04086.jpg

Then it called for the middle of the shoulders to be cut out so that the resin pieces showed through (looks right to me)

tazrob

Still working away a little at a time, smoothing out all the edges and prepping the plastic for paint at the moment (long and tedious) could probably skip a few steps of sanding but I like how the edges are turning out. Here is a shot of my current mess

Ok kinda in a holding pattern for now until Delta all meets up so I am still cleaning up armor for the most part. I did cut the top vents on the helmet (not gonna cut the bottom ones) but I have some more cleaning to do not the vents (when I sanded the inside of the vents I rounded the corners)

I also heated the thighs and got them to fit my leg (KEEP THE HEAT MOVING)

Wrap it

and cool it

Ok so I have been dreading this but I decided to put the handles on the pack tonight.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04325.jpg

Said to glue them on first then Drill a guide hole and insert the provided screws, 2 for each side of each handle for a total of 8 screws.

The Glue I used

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04326.jpg

Lined them up and glued in place

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04329.jpg

That was easy enough, lol
Ok now the part I was not looking forward to, the drilling.

Marked my holes (hoping they are in a good place) and put a piece of tape on my drill as a depth guide.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04331.jpg

As I drilled this liquid goo came out (I think it was uncured resin but do not have experience with resin to be sure)

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04337.jpg

Anyway what I did not want to happen happened, I split the handle

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04339.jpg

and again

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04338.jpg

So now I am pissed but you know what live and learn I sanded them down till the split was no longer bubbled and applied bondo. Will have to see how it turns out tomorrow.

Thanks bro.

A clone will fit nicely with your others, plus with the movie coming out next month the clones will be in high demand.

On to the update.

Did not get much done during the armor party but that is good got to work with the rest of Delta which was WAY fun. Anyway decided to put the 2 halfs of the pack together (not as easy as I thought or planned)

I started buy putting glue on all the scraps that I had on the one half and putting the halves together. by the time I got the one side glued and held the other side came unglued and then the front I am not even talking about. Anyway after about 40 minutes of fighting with it I have it pretty well together but it has some major gaps on it (these where not there in my multiple test fits) but it is glued and holding ok so lets tape it all together to hold it

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04494.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04495.jpg

and the seam looks pretty good

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04496.jpg

but I am going to take TC-9111's suggestion (from ct.net) and glass the seam as well

Got all my supplies

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04498.jpg

(almost forgot gloves)

cut my strips and laid them out on foil (so as not to mess up my work bench)

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04499.jpg

Mixed up my resin ., then I thought to myself, this is only the third time I have ever messed with glass hope I don't mess it up.

Brushed on the first coat of resin on the inside then brushed the strips. Laid the strips down on the inside and smoothed it out. Put my final coat of resin on top of the mat and Presto

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04500.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04501.jpg

the seam is glassed. Now to let that side cure then it is on to the other side. Hopefully it will do what I need it to. (I roughed up the inside a little, will it hold the V seam together?)

tazrob
07-22-2008, 06:46 PM
Ok got the whole pack glassed I was excited to pull the tape off to see what I had. I actually came out better than I had thought. It is gonna need the bondo to cover some mishaps but that is was bondo is made for :D. Hope to get the pack, biceps, and maybe calves together and seamless before the weekend so I can lay some primer on them this weekend.

On to the messy goodness

This is some of the rough spots that are on the pack (the fun thing is when it is done you will not see them so I can show it)

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04519.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04518.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04520.jpg

Ok enough of that onto the biceps

I cut them to width and used the extra pieces to back the seam and seal it.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04517.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04516.jpg

I actually dropped them a couple times tonight to make sure that they would stay together, surprisingly strong.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04521.jpg

I sanded down the seam with 150 and evened out the tops and bottoms and applied bondo to both the biceps and one side of the pack. The V seam on the pack was pretty well defined so I just applied some spot putty to that.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04523.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04525.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04526.jpg

Now to let that dry and sand it down and bondo the other side of the pack. I should be doing that tomorrow and then hopefully sanding the biceps and applying the final bondo/spot putty Thursday.

tazrob
07-24-2008, 04:43 PM
Got a little lazy over the past couple days and only worked a little under a hour each night but I sanded the first step of bondo down and then applied some spot putty tonight I sanded down the spot putty and put the first coat of primer on the seams. Here is the pics

Anyway I have been a little lazy as of late trying to get things together for a big yard sale this weekend (with all proceeds going toward My Wife's scout) Plus I was working on a side project with my cousin.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04620.jpg

I did get the screws in the forearms but still have to cut them down and make them seamless

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04605.jpg

I finally said enough with the pack seam (although I could have spent another week on it)

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04607.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04606.jpg

I also through on some white paint to see how some of the things would turn out

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04611.jpg

And I wet sanded the high edges to the primer to see some weathering until I get my fullers and any washes I do.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04623.jpg

now to get through this yard sale and get back to the important work.

Ok I have not posted in about 13 days so I have a little bit of progress to show.

Will go in steps

I worked on the forearm pieces gluing the halves together on one side and drilling for the resin detail pieces

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04563.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04605.jpg

I then cut the one side of the top off and found out that the piece I cut makes for great pieces to glue the other side shut cause they are already curved.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04645.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04647.jpg

Attached the resin pieces and made sure everything lined up alright

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04646.jpg

I then ripped it all apart and worked on the seams (I HATE SEAMS  ) No pictures of those seams cause the camera was charging.

While they where apart I painted all the pieces separate

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04693.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04695.jpg

And glued the resin pieces on along with the screws

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04696.jpg

Set the forearms aside till I am ready for assembly then I will attach the elbows to the piece I left on the top of the forearms.

Figured it was time to do something without making it SEAMLESS so I test fitted the upper body

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04701.jpg

Not much I have to fix but a little so I trimmed it where I needed to

Now to figure out how to attach the 2 halves. I want to make it so if I gain a couple pounds (not that I want to) I will have no problem wearing it so I figured I would take a piece of ABS long enough to glue onto one side and attach Velcro to it then add velcro to the inside of the front half so that I can move it in or out about 2 inches depending on what I need to do

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04706.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04707.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04709.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04719.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04722.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04725.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04728.jpg

then the velcro

OK last update for the day.

Once I had the upper body together I wanted to see how the pieces all fit together on me so I called Lisa (my wife) out and had her grab the tape. After messing with it for a bit this is the result

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04732.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04735.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04737.jpg

and since I do not have the DC-17 yet I beat down a TK and took his weapon

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04738.jpg

Of course I learned a valuable lesson with this test fit. DO NOT TEST FIT if your armors paint has not cured or you do not have you final coat on yet.

Ok I have been very lazy as of late when it come to Sev. I have been trying to figure a few things out, like the holster placement but I think I might have that problem licked. Anyway here is my work on the legs.

First I taped them up to figure out my cuts

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04777.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04784.jpg

Cut lined up and glued the pieces I cut off in behind

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04781.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04790.jpg

I kept the thighs and the fronts of the calves taped while I worked on matching the pieces on the tops and bottoms and cutting more of an angle on the back of the thighs so I can kneel and move better

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04795.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04800.jpg

and the beginning of the holster

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04808.jpg

Until I figure out if how I think the holster is going to work, works it might be a while till next update.

You can probably bore out a hole on the bottom of the holster, jb weld a screw, and drill a hole directly into the armor and attach it via a nut.

tazrob
09-27-2008, 07:45 AM
Not a bad idea for attaching the holster just needed to make it look more or less one piece which meant no bolts or rivets showing.

OK Ab and kidney painted

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04826.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04827.jpg

and holster figured out and attached

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04836.jpg

Any one else attaching the holsters be very careful when heating up the front to get the right contour, just as mine started to give the whole front bubbled but fixed it pretty good

this is how it looks on the leg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC04834.jpg

Now to wait for a non rainy warmer day to get them primed and painted then the construction is basically done (except for Sev's attachments) detail painting is next on the agenda.

Tried Velcro to seal the sides of the ab/butt but not sure if I liked the result may just end up making them one solid piece (although I like the idea of it being adjustable) The blue on the midsection will darken a good bit with weathering.

I got the drive to work more on Sev so I came home and painted the blood marks on the biceps and knee plates but they have to cure before I wet sand them to make them look the way I want them to, SOOOO while they where drying I decided to do some black and brown washes on the armor I already have the blood marks on. I still want to get some fullers earth to make it pop more.

Anyway the camera does not pick up the depth of the washes much but you can see some of it

Now to get the rest of the blue and the blood marks painted.

tazrob

Finally got brave enough to tackle the rest of the blues on the costume.
As the texture really stands out I was tentative to mess around with it but figured it has to get done before I can paint more blood.
After I taped everything off, I took the denim acrylic color that I used for the ab and mixed in a squirt of black acrylic and shook like crazy to mix it up, this is to keep the colors similar but the ab is just I tad bit brighter than the rest of the blue. I then brushed it on to get it everywhere then dabbed it with a dry sea sponge to give it some texture and make it even. I cut some square toothpicks in half and used the cut edge to make the lines in the blue. This gave the lines some thickness after I made the thick lines I went over it with the edge of a screw driver to give it some thin lines as well. I then let it dry enough to sand it with some 360 sand paper to give it some more wear. I coated it with matte finish and will let it cure before I add the washes. After Christmas I will order the fullers to finish the weathering.
I also painted some more blood and weathered those pieces with black and brown washes.

Ok not much more done but I have weathered some parts more, I think almost to the point of completion. My first step in my weathering is I mixed rubbing alcohol and acrylic paints and did washes with both black and brown, the alcohol let the paints adhere to the surfaces a little better that the Windex washes , this gave it a used, worn in look.

Tonight I sponged on a mix of burnt umber and black (first dipped in the umber then dipped in the black) using makeup sponges my wife had and then took a paper towel soaked in Windex and "sponged" it off. I did this to all the lines and edges, this gave it some gunk and further dirtied it up.

Took these pics without a flash to hopefully show the weathering better.

The kit came from PA you can find them on the clone boards. As far as the cushman, I bought a dc-15 long for my Clone commander, for 110 and it was the biggest waste of money I ever made. The detail and quality imo suck. If you do not mind a marshmallow weapon then it would work but then again that is my opinion. A garrison mate bought the 17 and the pistols and he pretty much pitched them.

I tried using pin stripe to tape off the lines for my Forearms so that I could airbrush them today but the stripe kept on lifting off of the curves of the forearms. So after a couple tries I figured I would move onto my calves and at least get them painted today.

I while ago I cut a piece out for the back of the knees as my plan was to set my knees up like Kris from CT.net

I glued that on with abs glue and let it dry then filled the bottom up with Devcon plastic weld to add strength.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05438.jpg

The front of my legs come together with velcro and instead of going through a layer of ABS 2 layers of velcro and 2 more layers of ABS for the magnets I decided to cut the magnet shape out of the velcro and glue it right to the front piece of ABS so it only has to go through the 2 pieces of ABS. So I marked my spot

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05414.jpg

And Cut it out

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05410.jpg

Put on some Gorilla Glue and attached the magnet

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05411.jpg

I just used the magnet that is going in the knee plate to hold the magnet in place while the glue set

As I was playing with the knee after the glue dried I figured out that it moves to much so I figured that if I added a long magnet to the top the knee would pretty much stay in place by itself.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05425.jpg

Again held in place with teh other magnet on the outside till it set.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05428.jpg

I then added the glue to the magnets going on the inside of the knee and put them in place

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05431.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05436.jpg

This is what I ended up with

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05434.jpg

I need to weather the calves yet and I want to add a piece of material to the knee that I can snap into place on the inside of the thigh so that if I kneel I can just flip the knee up and it will not go anywhere.

Now to get the Forearms and Hand plates done and I will be ready to put it on as one piece finally, after almost a year.

Very Nice weather meant my Garage was nice and warm tonight so I broke out the Air Brush. I have used the toy testors air brushes before on my models, but this is the first time I ever used a "Higher end" fully adjustable one. NOTE TO SELF, TURN THE PAINT FLOW DOWN. I burnt through my first bottle of paint rather quick and it looked like it did not cover at all, I sponged it to try to salvage what I could and the paint spread very well. Any way second bottle lesson learned and the coverage was much better.

I decided to air brush the forearms and hand plate as they are the only pieces of Sev's Armor that the blood marks are uniform. No Streaks. Mission Accomplished. Of course the tape stuck to some of the white as I was lifting it. You have to Love natural weathering.

And the Pics.

Taped up

last time to see the nice white.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05439.jpg

Not to bad for coverage
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05443.jpg

I hate watching paint dry
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05444.jpg

This is probably the best shot of what the Red Gore turns out like of course it still looks brighter than it is
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05446.jpg

All painted up
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05448.jpg

Now I have to let it all dry and sand the paint job off, and weather. Then all my painting it done and on to adding the padding and fitting. I think I will work on the attachments while I wait for the rest of my Delta Brothers. Of course it would be funny having Sev walk around Steel City Con with a picture of the other Deltas asking "Have you seen these guys. They left me"

Ok well I finished up weathering the last of the hard armor this weekend and I remembered to take picks of the last step I was doing in the weathering. So here is the forearms and hand plates

First I take and put some burnt umber and black acrylic paints in small containers, I just make some out of foil and make an extra one to mix them in.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05451.jpg

I dip it in the burnt then in the black and dab it in the blank one to mix them a little and thin it out.
Then dab it on the item

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05453.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05452.jpg

Then after it drys a little I take a paper towel spray it and the piece with windex. Working from referance photos I start wiping it off and dabbing in certain areas till I get the look I want.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05454.jpg

This is what I end up with

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05455.jpg

So there is all the hard parts, now on to the shoes and finally getting it all together.

So I started padding the armor pieces and working on a strapping system. I did get a belt set from the folks as OSCS so that is going to help a lot. Anyway,

I took the shoulder straps from that set and cut them down to hold the bells on I put velcro under the shoulder pieces to hold it then on the resin insert on the bells

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05488.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05490.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05489.jpg

Put in the padding like like Kris on the Clone boards

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05483.jpg

and rigged up some padding for the shoulder bells, of course I forgot to take a pic of that but they are drying right now so I can still get a pic to show what I did, will just post it up next time.

Anyway I have the belt on and working on the strapping so I had to do some measuring but while doing that I figured what the heck.

Mind you that I do not have the pads on the bells and the straps are not set yet AND the pants I am wearing are not the final ones AND the shoes still need done BUT

OK I am avoiding the boots so I am working on the small details. Here is the rest of the knee plates (I have already added the magnets to hold them in place)

I used E6000 to attach a piece of 2 inch webbing on the inside of the knee.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05536.jpg

I then added snaps to the inside of the shins
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05538.jpg

Put the other half of the snaps into the webbing
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05545.jpg

and presto with the magnets in place and the strap no matter what happens to the knees, they are not going anywhere
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05548.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05549.jpg

I also started to figure out the shoulder attachment, this is gonna be fun

While waiting on the last piece I need (Steel blitz boot straps)I will post up how I made my shoes.

First I took the tongue of the shoes out

I then used E6000 and put 2 straps of elastic on the inside of the shoe to keep it tight
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05605.jpg

Because Sev's shoes are Red I used a red marine vinyl. I used what a garrison mate posted up and cut 2 pieces out about 3 -5 inches higher than the shoe and 2 inchs more than it was from the middle of the heel to the front tip of the shoe. I then cut these pieces in half diagonally and that gave me the sides (I did the same thing for the other side but cut in the opposite direction.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05611.jpg

I then used gel super glue on the bottom edge all the way around and up the back seam. I then cut off the excess material and taped it up. While I was taping anyway, I also cut out long pieces to cover the seam in the back and taped them up.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05612.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05614.jpg

When that was dry I did the same to the opposite side and let that dry then covered the upper half with E6000 and let dry over night. I then cut off all the extra material and used gel super glue to hold the edges firm.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05617.jpg

I then cut out toe pieces and the long covers.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05616.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05623.jpg

I cut off a little of the ends of the toe pieces and added the squares to the cover gluing them in place with the gel super glue.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05624.jpg

Again because his shoes are all red I mixed up some acrylic paints and had the wife paint the soles.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b252/tazrob/SEV/Sev%20Build/DSC05625.jpg

And until I get the straps here they are.

Thanks for the compliments!!

Not really, I have a belt and strap system that holds everything in place. Of course with any costume the first time you wear it you find out things that you need to change for modify to make it work better. The only really problems I found was that the front of my straps kept creeping down so I am sewing a T to the front on either side and adding a parachute clip. Also the bottom of the diaper would dig into my legs in certain poses so I have to flair them out just a little bit.
