Hi all

Thought I'd post some piccies of my first DIY saber now that I've mostly sorted out the hilt. I've got a second switch (a momentary aux switch) to mount in the hilt, the hole for that is already drilled so I just need to cut through the carbon. Aside from that it's pretty much sorted and how I wanted it. I've used uncured carbon fibre for the grip section, the main hilt is just sinktube, and I've then taken aluminium sheet and cut then curved the bands that wrap around it. Finished them off by polishing them up nicely.

Phase III is when my CF v4 arrives anytime now! ;)

Call it 'Cortosis Weave', not carbon fibre ;). It does look very good though.

Cheers mate

Cortosis Weave....like it! ;)

I've got my CF 4.0 board to put in it soon, it arrived a couple of days ago. Then it should be complete!!

Pretty sick saber! Simple but the carbon fiber/"cortosis weave" makes it look so cool.
I'm always finding sabers that are so simple but imply things that I never would have thought to put on a saber and it makes them look so cool.

Just use your imagination....the sabers I like the most are usually the ones that have used unlikely materials creatively rather than the full-on lathe'd/machined sabers (as undoubtedly impressive as they are)
