im not real sure here, but the sound module shows 2 switches on that. i think you only need one there, that the main on/off. the clash up there would be the 2ndary trigger. to start it and turn it off. hittin the clash after its fired off will produce the vibration and lighting effects. thats what i see of it. i know im missing the resistors, i know the other guys can tell you that one.

Yeah, are you using a Hasbro? It'll save you a lot of work if you are. Corbin made a diagram for the Hasbro that helps you save a switch and you could run the motor off the hasbro's lamp wire.

EDIT: Even so that third SPST is pointless. You can run it off of the DPDT instead routing it through there.

i know the second switch is unnessecary, but i wanted to be able to turn the sound on and off and still run the saber.

if thats the case, then just run corbins board by itself and then use the hasbro board for sound only on seperate switch, but thats pretty pointless and wasteful of an already great rig.

Couldn't he just wire up an audio taper pot to tun the volume down?

i think he could run a wheel type adjuster to control that, maybe have it hooked up to speaker wires before speaker? im not a electrics wiz, so im not real sure. but just in my own view, if hes using corbins and a hasbro, why not just let it firem both like the wiring diag. shows. i suppose he could even run a seperate switch just for the sound and seperate batt. pack, that would keepem seperate, still have corbins effects, and your choice of whether you want the sound on or not.

if this is really what he wants, thats the way i'd do it. seperate switch.

If you want a saber that has a seperate switch to turn the sound on and off, just put a switch off the speaker wires. Power goes down the POS. of the speaker, into the speaker and back out the NEG. If you put a switch in this curcuit you can cut the speaker out by throwing the switch.

switch on speaker wire sounds like a much better solution. thanks. it seems obvious now that you guys said it

no prob, glad to of helped. and scaarmor, no sweat my friend. i got up yesterday at 2:30 pm went to work, i work 6 pm to 6 am. and i have yet to get to bed and get some sleep this morning. so i sympathise with you. im finishing up stuff on the vader suit. and doing some more experimenting with a sound device for voice. when i start burnin myself with the ole solderin iron then its time for a nap. last week i stayed up for 38 hours before i took a few z's. i have that benefit to do in a few days and im just tryin to get all things ironed out to my liking before then.

So basically the diagram that's on corbin's website shows how to wire his board with the hasbro soundboard, right? And you can run the vibrating motor thingy off of the lamp wire...the lamp wire is...which one? he also notes that the wires to the board are for its on/off switch, not its power supply. This means that you need to wire it to a seperate power source?...I'm so confused..

I'm referring to this diagram- http://www.corbinscomponents.com/w/W-BasicSound.jpg

that diagram is just the basic of a sound module. i think theres another diagram right here in this forum that shows the whole thing, hasbro vibrator, and all. take a looksee.

Here I snaped a quick pick of the Yoda Saber: http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/G-FORCE13/th_board.jpg (http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/G-FORCE13/board.jpg)
On this one it is the red wire you see in the middle of the board but on the one I built it was black, just look for the single wire it might be marked on the sound board. The cool thing is on startup and shutdown the Force resonator will oscillate and then change on clash it is a cool effect. If you need more help feel free to E-Mail Me.[8D]

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I've got a question somewhat related to this. I'm interested in wiring up a vibrating motor to my saber, but without corbin's driver, only using a Hasbro soundboard and a buckpuck. I've been trying to glean info off of this thread, but it's been somewhat difficult with all the picture links dead. Would I be right in assuming that I'd simply wire up the vibrator to the lamp lead on the Hasbro soundboard?

Yes, and the other to the negative of the batteries. Should be fine that way.
