View Full Version : Fisto-Style Emitter Concept

I've done some searching and saw several posts about inquiries into a Kit Fisto-style emitter. I also dig this style emitter, so I sketched out some basic concepts this weekend.

Goal was to keep it simple, so it uses a slightly modified LED Style 1, with the "smaller diameter" part extended along the axis.

The rings themselves would just slip into place, and would need to be epoxied so that they don't fly off when dueling.

In 3D view:

Finally a render:

Look do-able?

Or you could make it so the blade holder is got a lip on the top of it so you would have to take the bladeholder off to take the rings off. Essentually they would be sanwhiched in and a poddabillity for a new style of bladeholder, the MBHS.

Ive been talking about this for a while now.

Looks really good, You could cut a thread in the last ring & it would hold them all on, no need for glue then

Wow, nice :D Is that Autocad?

I wish I had the money for a program like that. While sketchup is great, and super easy (and fast), it can't make pretty things like that.

That thing looks nice, and I think Strydur should look into something like that. MBHS, the new wave of possibilities, and maddness!

AutoCAD? Nope. This here's SolidWorks. :-)

I'm lucky, being a design engineer has some perks, including a Dell M70 laptop with a version of SolidWorks that I can bring home to tinker with.

If you're a student, there is the Student Edition (http://www.solidworks.com/pages/products/edu/studenteditionsoftware.html).

Or if you're a teacher, there's an Education Version (http://www.solidworks.com/pages/products/edu/index.html).

3D Modeling rocks.

Hey Hasid,

Is this what you mean:

This concept would add a 4th ring, but it would remove some of the modularity of different style rings as compared to the concept at the top of this thread.

Also, tapping a hole for blade retension is easier in the top concept, though this "retainer" concept should allow for tapping for a set screw. Thumb screw might look weird, though.

It might be possible to make the ring hold just the lip, inner diameter portion to center the rings, and the thread. Then you'd just have a little bit sticking out the top.

Cool. It reminds me of a high-tech razor blade (in a good way):p

No you missed it like this

Kinda hard to see cause I dident feel like making it to scale and such.

Bladeholder with a ridge to keep the rings on then when you go to screw the bladeholder on the rings stay on.

I wonder when we'll be seeing something like this from our illustrious Lord o' the TCSS...
