Finished another MHS yesterday.

I moved my custom blade holder #8 to this one - it just matched better.
Hilt style #3, 2" extension, pommel #3 and insert #6.
3w r/o and my other CF V3.0/3.1 set on Soresu.
One white LED (low power) above the guarded switch (mom) and long shaft tactile switch for aux.
industrial heat-shrink tubing for the grips. (2" shrinks down to 1 1/4")
4.8V 2600maH Ni-mH rechargeable battery
recharge port in pommel - THAT was a PITA!

Your absolutely right about that blade holder fiting this one better. Dig the design alot.
Question though, can you elaborate how you got the speaker and recharge port in the pommel? Also, did you use Tim's speaker holder? I want to do that to my Sink Tube Redux saber, but not quite sure how to run everything.

I tried Tim's mount, but it didn't work for this one.
The sound board is pretty much butted up right to the edge of the threading, even overlapping a little with the SD card in.

With the Rechage port screwed into the pommel insert, I bent the "legs" down, almost 90 deg, to maximize space inside the pommel.

I had to fashion a resonance chamber that would sound fine AND accomodate the recharge port.
I had some pvc tube (1 1/16" OD x 3/4") for the chamber, then I sanded 3 grooves on the sides and bottom, so the 3 wires from the recharge port would ultimately go out and around the entire pvc piece.

There was just enough space left on the pommel for the speaker, because the back of it would end up almost flush with the sound board.

there's 5 wires coming out of the pommel, 3 recharge port, 2 speaker. I gave enough slack wire to compensate for screwing the pommel in place (about 5")... the wires ended up in a nice, tight, twisted-up ball between the speaker and the SD card - holding both, very firmly, in place.

It was just dumb luck that it worked out this way... I surely did not plan it like this but, hey, it worked... if this doesn't make sense, I'll try to explain it better. I'm not going to take it apart anytime soon, for fear of messing up my luck... so no pictures right now.

You explained it enough to at least get me pointed in the right direction:D

I had to make some changes to this one here. In case you've been reading around...

This is the one that started smoking... I was messing with the recharge port, and sma-sma-sma-smoke all over the place. The Board is fine, remarkably.

- I had to cut the rubber rear grip off to get at the wiring, but it still looks okay with the o-rings on either side of the double male... some semblance of a rear grip there.

- I couldn't get straight cuts on, well, either grip. So, I scalloped the top grip just to accentuate that fact - I like it... a little spidermanny....

- Put in a quick-change so I can swap back and forth.. r/o 3w, royal blue k2, white k2...

- Changed the white accent to a blue high brightness.

here's the royal blue k2:

I think my recharge port messed up my CF board. So I had to get that repared!:( But is all good now. So all I'm waiting for are my leds (Lux III- amber, royle blue, and Cyan) It will all be in my new MHS saber... Any ways Very nice saber Eastern sorry about your recharge port accedent:( But at least it wasn't the board. LOL! P.S. if you have an old blade holder from a MR fx saber you can cut that in half and put the recharge port wires through the holes and then mount the speaker on top of it. It saves alot of space!:D And just another back-up note (this is what I do) is use a rechargeable 4 AAA pack to save even more space! But fantastice!!!:D:cool:

This saber was dismantled and rebuilt a looong time ago. Some parts went into Mongrel, some went into quase-luke, some franken-saber... It WAS about 12.5"...

I've also gotten the knack of the recharge port in the pommel thing too - this was my "beginner" phase. I've learned a lot more since then. ;) :D

Someday I'm going to learn to read to the end of the thread before I hit "reply". Oh well, it still shows off your skills nicely.
