Hello people

Getting a stormtrooper helmet is an idea that´s been around my head for longer than I can remember... I won´t be using it for trooping (although I´d probably wear it from time to time :D ), so I don´t need it to be perfectly accurate, but I´d like it to look good enough to display. I´ve been searching a little on ebay and I´ve come up with the following options:

Stormtrooper helmet cast (http://cgi.ebay.es/STORMTROOPER-HELMET-CASTING-1-1-FULL-SIZE_W0QQitemZ190220405836QQihZ009QQcategoryZ50277 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Rubies stormtrooper helmet (http://cgi.ebay.es/Star-Wars-Stormtrooper-CE-Collector-Edition-Prop-Helmet_W0QQitemZ160237388287QQihZ006QQcategoryZ378 87QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

And I think these two are both the same, Master Replicas CE: Helmet 1 (http://cgi.ebay.es/Star-Wars-STORMTROOPER-CE-Stunt-Helmet-Master-Replicas_W0QQitemZ290228787224QQihZ019QQcategoryZ6 0361QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem), helmet 2 (http://cgi.ebay.es/New-Star-Wars-Full-Sized-Stormtrooper-Replica-Helmet_W0QQitemZ200222540890QQihZ010QQcategoryZ154 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Taking into account that what I said earlier about the use I´m making of the helmet, which one would you recommend? The first one will surely need a lot of work to look pretty, but it´s a cheap option that I had to take into consideration ;)

Any advice will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance for your help and time :-)

Well, I'd buy the cast helmet before I bought that rubies piece of garbage...the MR helmets are the best of the ones you have listed there. I'd have to agree with Master Da-Jo, go for helmet #2. (trust me, I've seen a lot of ST helmets up close!)

I have to agree I've seen a few things from rubies and I don't like, some things have been offset or twisted eye holes not level bubbles go for # 2 my friend

Wow, thank you for the quick responses! You´re always the helpful bunch :D

I´ve been reading a little about the Rubies, and it seems you were all right, comments on them are very bad in most cases. So I´m taking your advice and going for that Master Replicas #2 helmet, and waiting for a reply from the seller about shipping quotes ATM

Thank you all again :D

Don't get #1...The CE is a piece of junk from what I've heard.

Gino on the RPF also makes some sweet ESB helmet replicas. They are the most accurate replicas from that movie.

I thought that he had quit casting helmets a long long time ago.

I would go for a Master Replicas CE helmet. However, I am not sure that the pic in auction #1 shows one of these.
However, I would also do a few mods (http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15988) to make it look better.

I would definitely NOT go for a Rubies. The fiberglass helmet may be a lot of fun to get ready.
Add the cost of shipping into the price, when considering.

As the seller is taking his time to calculate the shipping costs to my location, I´m also considering the fiberglass one... As you said, it could turn out very nice if worked on properly (and yes, it sounds funny too :D )... It´s really tempting, you know

Oooo that's tempting... Romsey is only 20 miles from me .

I finally ordered #2... I´ve read good things about it, and although not being perfectly accurate, I think this one is the best deal. I can´t wait for it to get here :D

Check with a 501st garrison. they should have an armorer of person who can steer you right on the helmet issue. RUBIES SUCK SO BAD!!!!!!!!!!!! They are wacky out of proportion and look goofy.

Check this site:
http://www.starwarshelmets.com/

Everthing you ever wanted to know is there plus side by side compairisons.

BEWARE EBAY! I actually sold my helmet to a guy in the UK thru Ebay.....we had a good transaction, but I have heard of many other bad transactions. I would deal with someone recommended by troopers for troopers.

They have UK garrison...
