sorry to beat a dead horse.. but Im just getting more confused.. and being my FIRST wiring job.. I guess Id rather make sure I 100% underatand things and have zero questions. :)

I read & searched and am confused... as there are many people who state different things.. somethings are old..some things are new.. etc

This whole latching vs momentary stuff is just killing me..:(

I 'have' a latching Plecter LED Driver (not a CF)..
and a Hasbro Qui-Gon sound board..

I read this cant work.. then I read have to have two buttons to start (power on) both.. then I read you can have 1 switch if momentary board.. not if latching.... then maybe a DPDT slide switch for the main power.. and a momentary to get manual shimmer/blade lock effect.. etc..

after reading I came up with my diagram with some feedback from a few peeps (xwing....etc)

but Im still not sure it will work..

http://dmstudios.net/misc/setup_2.jpg

the only thing missing from the diagram is a few accent LED's to be on when the saber is on..

although I have lines (wires) going to the switches.. I honestly am not sure on what poles/legs those wires are to be soldered too (yikes!)..

I only only ever read about the Corbin driver.. not sure if it makes a different as far as wiring this portion.. (I know programming/set-up is specific to plecter driver)

the DPDT slide switch has 3 positions..

up/middle/down or left/middle/right (whatever

could I have it so one position is off (of course)
another position is ONLY the PLI to check the battery power.. (no LED or sound)
and the last position be the saber on.. and my PLI on? (in the diagram it is planned to be always on if the saber is on.. not a momentary 'check')

I want to use a recharge port/kill port but Im being the 'tard' that I am.. I guess I dont understand this diagram and how it would relate to my set-up.. nor how to add a quick connect to it so there is room/wire/plugs for everything..

sorry I need a little 'hand holding' here.. :)

Ive got a my P4's battery packs (regular & re-chargable packs), optics (finally).. pelcter board driver, hasbro sound...

and I havent fired up an LED yet.. not even a glimmer of light as of yet...

I also forgot to get my re-charge port.. :(

Is this somethign you can grab a local electronics store? or do I really need t pay shipping and wait for that small part?

(I wouldnt mind if the 4.8 2600mA packs were in and the chargeres were in stock too)...

so I have 99% of my parts... and I really am NOT sure how to plan it out the best way.. I want everything to be quick connect.. hands down.

so if anyone has some time.. and wants to 'gab' Id appreciate the help.. tips.. :)

thanks

Dude, just try it.

Bite the bullet, sink or swim, sh*t or get off the pot... sooner or later you'll have to do something. If it works, great... if not, try something else... at least then you'll know what doesn't work...gotta make mistakes to learn... that's the main point ot "do-it-yourself"...

No disrespect, just a little tough love...

totally.. and I need it.. Im be a sissy.. I know! LOL

I just always get punk'd when Im soldering stuff..LOL

I dabble in 'sattelitte tweaking' sometimes.. ;) and Im always a sally when I need to solder on that too.. LOL

I really dont want to mess up the LED driver.. I guess is my main concern.. or an LEd.. howver they are cheap.. just take forever to get here from HK..

Also just an overall electronics question soldering to the poles/legs of a switch..

for the DPDT slide siwth (6 pole).. its the mathings poles on opposites sides?

poisition 1 left/right side are a match?

position 2 left/right is a match..

position 3 left/right is a match.. correct?

for the tact button.. the legs on the SAME side or opposite side of the tact swtich?

abd Im still sorta lost on the recharge port.. of it they can be purchased anywher else?

(or a NiMH battery charger as wel..since Tim has been out of 2600 mA packs, the recharger, and the 2.1mm plugs.. ) :(

was thinking I may be able to pick up the recharge port at least or maybe a charger form somewher else? RadioShack or something??

Hasbro boards need a momentary switch to turn on, a latching switch wont work....well.

Hasid-

DAMN!..so basically I'm fubar'd? :(

(Im not very open to a 2 switch turn on/off set-up)

So basically what I 'have' isnt going to work anyways.. (too bad no one else mentioned it!!) :) :D

I wouldnt have been so excited thinking I had a project I could do this weekend.

what have other people done with the latching Corbin board?

(nothing?. people just bought the momentarys?) lol

just used a latching sound board?

thanks again.. :)
