Light Side/Dark Side hilts WIP

yo.

so Ive been busy working on two hilts at the moment... one I am making for the wife who decided she wants a white blade... so I thought, lets do some cool white paint on there:

this is all sinktube on top of sink tube with a couple of MHS 1.5in adaptors, blade holder and pommel!

Im going to replace the blade holder screw with a nice knurled knobby deal...

one from the bottom where you can see that its the same size tube, cut up the middle to fit over the other tube:

ok, heres the second hilt... its a curved sith saber made from pvc, copper tubing, MHS bladeholder and random screws and stuff... Im still working on the shroud for this one, which will make it look way better... theres a few rough spots that need more sanding and repainting but you get the gist... the blade will be red of course!

the on/off button is going to go on the bottom... you can see where I started to drill into it...

it sits in the hand different obviously, but I like the way it handles!

theres still alot more work, got to get the electronics in on both of these, got to wait for next payday though... boooo.:(

I must say I very much like the top one, very elegant :).

As for the second one... I'm trying my best not to get too crude, but I get visions of Tom Greene from Freddy Got Fingered screeching to a halt by the horses :shock:. Dammit I can't get that image out of my head now :mrgreen:. Excuse me for a minute whilst I go and snigger like a 12 year old...

I really like that white one very cool unique look. As for the other...I'd have to agree with SWAT there and say EWWWW (not because the saber is gross looking but that mental image sure is!)

I think with the curved schl.... saber, it would look better without the last two sections, i.e. the sections with the O-rings. It's just that little bit too big. Lose the sections after the first thumbscrew and I think it'll look fine... It might also allow me to finally stop sniggering every time I see the pictures :mrgreen:.

It is odd that you haven't had much feedback though, especially considering how cool the white saber is :confused:.

Im now referring to it as the Shl*ngsaber.

it looks and feels much better balanced with the blade in... without the bottom piece it would be very hard to wield...

tested it out today dueling with my friend and it works really well... better than I thought!
