Ok, so I got kinda carried away with the CSS store and ordered a bunch of parts a while back....My idea was to do a duel saber thing with one being "Resurrection" and "Redemption." Resurrection was my old el hilt bought years ago.....hence it being resurrected.

Redemption was to be the flashy clean saber to pair with it.

Here it is without any holes, etc.

The tactile switches will go in above and below the choke point...the aux will be above and the main below......I am waiting on battery pack so I can adjust balance before drilling holes for swithces.

The plan was to have erv's led bargraph, but there ain't none to be had so I will leave that off for now.

The center secton was damaged in transit from Washington, the end has the slightest dent.....and the pommel won't screw in. A replacement, along with some MHS Obi Wan parts are inbound to my Jedi enclave as we speak.

So my question is grips....Ideas?

How about some T-Grips, maybe layed out in the middle, like Mace Windu's?

DONT DO ANY LUKE/GRAPHLEX style grips... (please).. LOL

keep it clean, minimal and streamlined.. it has VERY good lines right now..

the BL seems to be a natualy focal point for the saber.. so maybe focusing on some pommel bling or clamp/rings towards the bottom will balance it..

I think you could try to screw in the pommel a little more..and grab some rubber grip material like MADCOW used to have.. (the toothed belt type rubber strips) and put that directy above yoru current pommel.. nice off-set

maybe blacking out the middle of the choke point too?

those are my favorite style holders.. that & #3 (execpt those are VERy pricey...yikes)

I actually am thinking a custom (small box size and small clamp/band) at the bottom would be AWESOME.

or maybe some metal stripes bolted chrome metal with brass screws? (Mara Jade 'ish)

something like the ones on mara jade's saber maybe idk. i like it plain as it is though but yes none of the t grips unless if they were tiny like to look like a pummel. but yeah not in excess.

This would be perfect for some of the test grips Tim sent me. They are from the LED stars that come shipped together. They are black on one side and silverish metallic on the other. They are straight and have a bunch of half circles on each of the long sides. Very sweet for grips, Like Mara's But diffrent.

Leave it the way it is, only polished, with nothing else.

can you post some 'sneak-peek' images?

:)

BD-

Ive been really into/digging the metal ring /1-3 inch sleeve/section overlays 'look'..

I think maybe a 2 inch brass section overlay directly above the pommel would nice as well..

and a matching one around the choke point would go well

I agree with Mr. X. The clean look is very nice, especially on a clean, new double female piece. I know it's very tempting to make holes, but you must resist the urge...

But I'd be ok even if you didn't...

I would definitely buy those for grips, slick as heck looking.

I was thinking about some stingray leather epoxied to the hilt in some sort of irregular fashion. The saber balances "I think" right behind the choke point so a grip down near the pommel would not make sense from a use point of view, except when two handing.

Asthetically, I love the cleanness of it all..sort of like Erv's CE saber......

I cut some cheap rubber pond liner to use as a pattern, but I did not like it. I'll take a few more pics when I get a decent shape.

*****Leans toward the no grip suggesttion made********

thanks guys,

This is th Stage One completion of Redemption.

I say stage one because there are other things I want to do to this saber, but I am leaving it alone for now.

Cf v4 going in

The aux switch had to be epoxied in place with epoxy putty inside the choke point.

I had to go with a simple wrap grip until I decide what to do about a proper grip.....I seriously thought about leaving it gripless, but it needed something to break up the monotony....

Thanks for the input and a video is going up on youtube as soon as they are back up for uploads.

I was so excited about finishing, I had to drag out the costume for a shot.......

I would love to use those grips on one of my future sabers.
