So i got to thinking.....have any of you guys bought or made any custom thumbscrews to hold your blades in....I know i've seen stuff for like computer cases and what not. Or do you guys just use normal thumbscrews?

I just used one of Tim's, but custom thumbscrews sound like a great idea! Hmm... but how to go about doing it...?

They look cool but couldn't you just paint the thumbscrews Tim sells.

I am going to order some of these and see if I can get them to work on my Saber.

I purchased some of these:

Just your standard computer case thumb screws. Computer thumb screws tend to have a #8-32(*see edit) course thread so they work very well for lightsabers.

I took the thumbscrew above and machined them to look like these

Edit: I meant #6-32 course thread, NOT 8-32. Since most hilts I make use #6-32 course thread cap and button head screws, the case screws work just fine for me.

Lightsaber Warning Label: "CAUTION: Do NOT attempt to sharpen blade."

Case thumbscrews tend to be on the small size or I would sell them.

These are a little pricey because they are made of sterling silver (needed in the use of tattoo machine contact screws) but they are awesome-I love skulls!

yeah, tims are good, and if he can keep the supply of longer ones in stock that would be great.

Actually they are pretty stout as far as threads go, I have had a few for my tattoo machines. The lower jaw moves too, giving the impression of laughing. Nothing like dueling with someone you can beat and telling them even my lightsaber is laughing at you-very sith-I like.
