Nimh Smart Charger question

hello...
Im guessing I have something wired wrong and/or broken, but when I plug my saber into my smart charger it appears to be charging but then the light starts to blink.

I think my actual plug might be broken cause im 98.9% sure I have it wired correctly...

the paper that comes with the thing doesnt say anything about a blinky light...

this ever happen to you guys?

I've had the blinky light a few times, I think it has to do with bad contacts or something. Whenever I got it, it would go forever and didn't charge to my knowledge. I just pulled out the plug and adjusted it until I got a solid light.

I have a batt pack with a 9v connector on it. When I hooked the charger's gator clips reversed to the contacts I got a blinky. Verify your polarity. You can definitely fry something hooking it up backwards. In my case I was lucky... the batt pack was not connected to the saber electronics. Worse case would have been a new batt pack.

Initally when mine did that it used to do it when the battery was new, but after a few charges it never did that red led blinking thing.
