any tips on how to safely salvage the MR speaker from a Luke ROTJ battery module? i dont think using a hammer is the best solution... or is it?

NOOO!!!

There are clips. Snip them with an exacto and you can pry or sometimes just pull off the end. Then you can just push the speaker and grille out no problem.

okay i got the endcap off, but there seems to be some glue holding the rigging for the speaker together...

'Tis just glue. Peel it... whatever tickles your pickle. Short of stabbing it you can do little harm to the speaker.

Just don't pull on the wires. fragile they are

I used a dremel.

Blades like x-acto or other hobyist blades can be dangerous to your fingers. I lost sensation on one finger a while back. Did you know nerves can grow back, but at the rate of 1mm/year?

thanks for your help guys! I ended up just using some diagonal cutters and bulldozed the casing to get in there... i think you guys all misunderstood what i was saying but oh well i got what i needed and thats what counts after all haha
