I'm trying to think of a few different new designs and I would like to use a clamp at the base of hilt right before the pommel. I've attached the image of the saber.

The problem I have will be the activation switch. I have a black MPP clamp at home so I was wondering if it would be easier to modify the clamp to have a black switch coming out of the side, or get a laser cut clamp from parks. Since I have never seen one in person, does the laser cut clamp stay in place well on MHS hilt pieces? Also will the cut out sides provide enough room for an acitvation button?

Those laser-cut clamps are meant to fit over 1.5" diameter stuff, so you would need to have a piece of 22 ga. sinktube between the clamp and the MHS body to get things to fit properly and not flop around.

Thanks,

I thought so but I wanted to be sure before I ordered everything.

Thanks again.

take a look at Jay-gon's progress using the lazer cut clamp box, MHS/sink tube pieces... that's what you'll end up needing... at least a piece of sink tube to be used as a sleeve.

this is what i did with mine, you can get a lot out of that box... since these pics I've switched to a momentary tactile switch and corbin's driver.

Nice switch placement.

Would this switch fit into the box of a heiland replica clamp?

I have one on the shelf from the king of parts and was wondering if a switch like that will fit under the bubble strip?
