Speaking as a member of the Rebel Legion, I can say that those boots do meet the current requirements to join when used with a Jedi costume.

Speaking from experience though, if you plan to wear them alot, they aren't going to last long. I had a pair of those to start off with, and after a several outings, they started to crack around the ankles where the pvc would flex when I walked. They are a great starting point though.

The big problem would be that they are really going to be hot if you wear them for a long period, better get a set of oder eaters;)

I think Obi-Dar had those boots (the second link) and they only lasted one outing... I could be wrong.

I suggest you to try searching for riding boots on eBay.

That's what I did and I got really good boots for 1/4 of their retail price.

Yep, you're exactly right. After wearing them for a day, the vinyl cracked across the insteps. There's a thread with pictures, a few threads down in the costuming folder.

I've had a pair of the ebay "Jedi" boots as well. Had the same problem with those as I did with the black rubber/pvc riding boots. Cracked around the ankles where the material flexed, and didn't breathe as they are made from vinyl. They are acceptable according the Rebel Legion Generic Jedi Standards, but really are suggested as "starter" boots.

so what's the best boots to get to meet the requirements? anybody got any links or some suggestions. I actually found some dr martins that looked pretty good, I don't mind spending a little money for something that will last and look good.
