I always wanted to build an ancient saber, so here it is so far... currently running a lux V cyan,no resistor from a 7.2 V li=ion pack. soon it will be changed to a lux III red-o...I'll update the pics when i get the new color in it

I like the beat up/weathered look alot on this one. The switch is placed pretty cool too. Not much chance of accidentally flipping it up to turn it off... good forethought on that one. What pieces did you use for the lower handle such as the pommel and what it's next directly connected to?

thanks, but i just realized i uploaded from the wrong folder,i need to downsize the images and repost....DOH! the led is directly connected to the battery

Looks like bladeholder 5, sinktube cunnector x2, ribbed section, and style 3 pommel, a 1.25" sinktube for the forgrip and a 1.5" sinktube cut upen and act as a spacer for the clpam/box.
Very nice design. I like it, unfortunatly my saber design couldent incorporate any of the design.

I like the display idea with the 2 sabers on one blade. Think we can get a clearer pic?

That is a nice saber. Care to enlighten (or point me in the right direction) on the technque used to get the "worn" look.

Please...
Regaurdless, very nice saber!

this is the best i can do with the crappy camera i have... as far as the worn look, it's aluminum black finish, you can get it at gun stores, then covered in varnish to collect dirt. it's also been beaten up a bit too

That's really inspired, it's come out brilliantly :D

It looks like you could throw it off a cliff and then go and pick it up at the bottom and it would be working fine (and like someone already has lol) - and really filthy, like it's been around through a long and gruelling campaign from the start.

Yay! Great job!

That saber looks so cool! The weathering just completes it and gives it such a cool feeling.
Ditto with Sethski.

Realy nice job Dark Helmet!

oh HELL YEAH!

Nice work, Dark Helmet. Now THAT is the kind of saber that looks like it has CHARACTER. Used... worn... beat up... not too fancy, not too plain...

EXCELLENT work. A++++!!!! :)

Oh man, that looks so good! That saber is so good that both those colors go perfectly. It makes a cool jedi of the old republic but then same thing for sith. Just awesome dude.

BTW, love your sig DH. "Things realy got out of hand. Brick killed a guy."

The red was a much better choice. Red just goes well with your saber. Just so dang hard to belive that you used a sink tube to build it. Looks tight.

I don't usually go for the weathered look, but that looks GOOD! Nice work! Amazimg what you can do with a couple of sinktube adaptors, isn't it?

Ancient Saber, eh? ;)

Sounds like it's screaming for CF + the Ancient Saber sound font I designed... ;)

thank you everyone, this saber was actually a very simple build until the weathering came into play.... that was until i had to make a printed circuit board to mount the accent leds... the board thats visible on the control box is just to hold the leds in place.the real board is under that one, using a piece of scrap board as a spacer.this part took an entire saturday.... i would love to make another version of this one, but as if it were new with a light side color, but the control box came from parks and i don't really want to wait another 4 months to start my next saber. the sink tube adapters were a real surprise, i had to use a rubber mallet to get the tubes in place, but once i had the center piece it just flew together....... this one started out as spare parts i wanted to use up, that's why it's made of such an odd combination of parts, but i couldn't be happier with it, i finally got to use the control box i waited forever for ( and up to then had no idea what i was going to do with it)... but there she is.... Threnody....

DH, I picked up a clamp exactly like the one you have on this saber off ebay under the seller "King of Parts". I've bought a Graflex red button and a different clamp from him in the past. This most recent clamp only took about 1 1/2 weeks to get to me... much less time than ordering off Park Sabers. Currently, King of Parts seems to only have a black clamp available.
