I have never done any soldering of any kind nor have I worked with simple electronics. Any advice?

You could not be in a better place.

Read as many of the tutorials here on the TCSS threads/forum as possible. Take things one step at a time.

In 2006, I knew absolutely nothing about soldering and wiring up electronics as well. It's shocking to some, but... it just goes to show that learning how to do the basics isn't really all that tough--especially with help from others who are in the know! I learned most anything I know from a mixture of experimentation... and advice found here and from Corbin Das.

Welcome to the forum Revan!

Novastar has good advice. Check out the tutorials (http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com/forumdisplay.php?f=28). There's a wealth of info there. Here's what I would recommend for starters:

Learning electronics basics (http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com/showthread.php?t=2342)

Soldering tutorial video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOdnGUMi7lQ)

As far as learning about the sabers, I'd say to go here (http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com/forumdisplay.php?f=35). It explains what the various types of sabers are and how they work. There's a bunch of links for cross-referencing too. Lots of info.

If you have any specific questions, I'd recommend searching the forum first. Chances are, if you're running into a problem or have something you don't quite understand, several other folks have likely run into that same issue before and probably have asked about it already. If you can't find the info here though, feel free to ask. We're a pretty laid back bunch.

Good luck and welcome.

Absolutely. You will hear a lot about why things can't be done... right up until someone does it :)
