Ok, I’m looking to make my first saber and have started to pick out my parts.

I have the pommel, insert, hilt with recessed switch, ribbed extension with o rings, emitter, blade, and an electronics kit.

Now my question is besides the recessed button switch on the hilt which is already done, do I need any holes drilled and tapped?

More specifically do I need a thumbscrew to hold the blade in place? If so what size?

Also what size hole needs to be drilled and tapped for the belt clip knob?

Thanks in advance

You will need to drill and tap a hole in the emitter to secure the blade. 8/32 is the most common.

An 8/32 socket head screw can be used in center of covertec knob:

On one of my Ultra stunts, I used a screw and Covertec knob AS the blade retention screw. It adds a little more depth, tho technically, it would make the saber hang blade up when off. Not really accurate, but there are no hard and fast rules.
