I'd go for a male-male connector if possible, the gender changer isn't tough enough to be placed at a stress point during heavy dueling from what I can tell.

last I knew he just put a warning that it should not be used towards the top of the hilt becouse of strengh issues.

The only problem I'm having with the "choke neck" section is getting a heat-sink down into the female end for a mock-up of how all the pieces will fit together. It seems to fit for maybe two threads, then gets jammed, and is even harder to get out again. Did Tim maybe change his heat-sinks to a thinner, smaller version maybe?

Looks as if the inside tips of the threads stick out just a hair further than on other parts.

I had the same problem, but it's easy to fix with some sandpaper or a small file.

Are you sure the heatsink is fully seated down before you put it togeather?

I am absolutely sure it was seated down to the bottom. Ke-Dnomie sounds like he has it right, though, if what I myself assume is correct I might just get some sandpaper and grind down the threads a little, and maybe the heat-sink, too, just a hair, to be on the safe side.

would be easyer to sand teh heatsink down than threads.

Point. When I get the chance, I will. No sand-paper on hand, nor an ability to go get any. I'll take care of it as time and monies permits.

I had the sticking problem as well, but only with older MHS heat sinks. the new "gold" color ones drop right in. at least for me.

Huh. I thought it might be because I have an older heatsink. I might as well invest in a few new ones, then.
