This was what I did to get sound holes to come out of my old hilt when I couldent fit my speaker in the pommel. I had a plate that went over this and the sound dident come out very well. If you are planning on doing this DONT!

Yeah, but my bro let me have his that he couldent use so its all good. I got a 16$ paperweight to remind me never to do anything like this crap again and a warning to others.

PUT YOUR SPEAKERS IN THE POMMEL!

That thing looks like something out of a Terminator movie... the 'after Arnold takes 80 rounds from an automatic weapon' look just wasn't what you were going for Hasid? lol :)

I'm with everyone else... Why? Were you listening to the little red dude sitting on your shoulder? if you were, he rarely has good ideas, speaking from experience unfortunately.

Well when I as puttingmy hilt togeather I wanted something different so I put the speaker in the mid hilt area, and well it dident work, it worked for a while but it was really a low volume and that annoyed me.

That and how I had my components layed out putting the recharge port in teh pommel was the easyest place to put it.

But iam posting them to remind people to PUT THE SPEAKER IN THE POMMEL NO MATTER WHAT THE DESIGNS COMPONENTS CALL FOR!

hmmm...what does the other side look like, Hasid? If there's nothing wrong with it, I may have anidea for a use for it besides a paper weight, if the other side isn't damaged.

Other side is perfect, just that one section

I too have a possible solution to save that ribbed piece Hasid.
I'm in the middle of building my next saber and it has a 10" lg ribbed section that i am machining a large cutout in one side, then i will cover it with a shroud like piece that will also act as a battery door of sorts. got the idea from Treadingwolf , (props man) he did it with a sinktube here....

just another idea :)

Well, it involves these:

and a little design inspiration from this:

Yes, those are already polished brass sinktubes that I found in an online plumbing store. There's only one small problem....they are 20 ga tubes and have a 1.44 i.d. making the MHS a no-go unless the parts are turned down to 1.42 o.d. If I could get that done, and I'm sure Tim could do that for an extra fee, I'll add in a few MHS parts, like the style 5 or 8 blade holder, the style 3 MPS, and I'll have brass saber similar to my custom. Hasid's ribbed grip would work for this, as the damaged side could be under the brass tube, and possibly house an aux button if I ever got ahold of a Crystal Focus board. If I go forward with the idea, I'd start a different thread of course.

Yeah but I would feel bad using this part knowing the damage that ive done to it.

Ive thought about cutting a section of it out and use them for mhs/sinktube connectors.

I think you should just save it as a worthy reminder of what not to ever do........AGAIN!

Thank you Hasid, forever more upholding the standards of what not to do.

I'm sorry it got jacked up though, but you probably saved alot of noobs here from doing worse things.

No its that I was stupid in designing the saber in teh first place. For the recard. put your speaker in the pommel, mever attempt a mid hilt mounted speaker cause its not gonna work!
