Shipping question

Usually when I order from the store I order a lot of parts all at once, so I've never had any question about the shipping cost. Right now all I need is a 3.3ohm 10watt resistor, and I didn't really want to wait until I ordered my next batch of saber parts. Is there any way I can order this part and have it delivered for less than the 7 or 8 dollars that the store charges for small packages?

I tried a warren ohio zip code and it showed a shipping charge of only $5.40 for a resistor. For UPS that probably is the mimimum charge. For USPS its not as simple as throwing it in an envelope and putting a 41 cent stamp on it. They have all kinds of rules and regulations that usually they dont even understand.
