Anodized buttons

I've noticed some lightsabers on ebay advertizing "anodized buttons", they look good.

Has anyone got any experience or knowlege of that process. Is it a kind of paint???

We talked about this in the General Q&A under the "finishing services" thread. It's not a paint. It's physically bonding a layer of color onto the surface. It's like the process of silver turning black but you are forcing it to whatever color you want. I don't know if that the best analogy, but it makes sense to me.[:p]
