Saturday, the 5th myself, and many other members The Midwest Garrison, hit Chicago's Museum Of Science & Industry, for the final weekend of the StarWars Exhibit. we had a great turn out, and there was a sea of people, with unbelievable lines of folks waiting to take pictures, we all had fun, but were exhausted by the end if the day.

Cool. I was part of WSMI tour when it was in LA last year. Had a blast trooping.

Before the exhibit officially opened, they had a Discovery Ball fund raising event. We did a little skit with a squad of Rebel Fleet Troopers battling Stormtroopers right in the middle of the dining hall with lasers flashing around the walls.

Alas, the Rebels got Captured, and Vader ordered us to be taken away. :p

Because the Donors knew there was going to be some kind of Star Wars show, they were very generous and we helped the California ScienCenter realize their goal of raising a million dollars for the year, a new record for them.

The Museum Staff took really good care of us, and threw all the Voluteers a big Thank You party at the end of the exhibit tour.

Are you Force Choking my friend Phyllis? :o

Was that a guy in a C-3PO costume? Thats something I've never seen.

I loved that video! It was like watching A New Hope live.

Very cool.

Do you know if they are coming to Toronto anytime in the future?

37H4N - Thanks for that comparison, that was fun to do, although we had to resist the urge to duel full-on, as they were stock MR sabers.

Obi-Dar Ke-Gnomie - I really don't know what the schedule for the exhibit is, you may try finding that info online, when they were here, the info for the company "caretaking" the exhibit was listed on the front webpage.

TazRob - You are gonna have fun man! Make the most of what trooping opps they give ya, the rewards are the faces of the kids, and die hard fans alike.
...funny moment, when I got off the glass elevator going up, there was a line flanking both walls waiting to ride it down, as I got off there were about 5 little ones screaming in terror, I quickly made my way past them, hey -nice to hear from ya BTW !

Jedi-Loreen -Yes I am force choking Phyllis, but they requested the photo op, She's one awesome woman, I don't know where she gets the time and energy, she does SO MUCH for our garrison, and she's extremely easy on the eyes. ; )

Oh, I don't doubt that they asked to be Force choked. Most RFTs want a photo like that at some point. I haven't done it yet, myself.

Phyllis does a lot for the RL, too. She's XO for out new Trooper Detachment, for one thing.

Ethan, So. Cal's Rebel Legion Base has a guy with a 3PO costume, too.

I can believe someone made a C-3PO costume, I jast can't believe they pulled it off so well, seriously that has to be one of the hardest costumes to do, unless your freakishly thin the proportions don't match.

You definitely have to have the right body type (skinny) to fit this costume. And not be too tall. The guy in that pic here is a little tall, there's too much undersuit showing between the chest and pelvis area.

This is a hard costume to wear, it's uncomfortable and you can't sit, or even walk very well. A couple of hours is all most can manage at a time. When our guy takes off his costume, he always looks like he's in pain.

And you can't have a big head, or the helmet will not fit. Watching people mash that thing around his head and onto his face and screw it together does not make it look like it would be fun to be inside that thing.

But he does it because there aren't many people who can.

Or will.

I saw a guy in a 3PO costume at DC two years ago it looked good, but very uncomfortable. I am pretty sure stairs were his mortal enemy. My hats off to anyone that would/could do that costume.

I still think Chris Bartlett (tk409) has one of the better 3P0s out there, he even had it at the Rose parade here is a video of his first outing in it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmPZ7ufw0uo

The So Cal 3PO got his current suit from Chris.

He is diffinetly one of the best C3PO costumers out there. :D
