3 Claw MHS Mount Question

Hey, I'd just like to know what size screw you guys use to mount this on your saber, and where do you do it: On the hilt section or the blade holder? I was thinking about using the blade holder 7 for my custom, but I don't think I would be able to screw the claw mount into it straight. I assume most of you use a different screw to hold the claw mount in place than you use to hold the blade in place, right?

I was looking at that too, I'm going with a #1 now, just need to wait for the type 1 claws to come back in.

that's the beauty of the claw mount, it can go where ever you want it to go.

But what size screw is used to mount the claw holder?

Any screw that is long enough. Button heads work well for this.

Maybe he's asking about the diameter and thread pitch (threads per inch) of the screw, not the length?

Thread pitch doesn't matter. Diameter doesn't really matter either. Basically any button head screw sold in the store will fit.

And why doesn't it matter? Isn't the claw mount mounting hole threaded? You need the right size screw for that. It's not the same size as the holes for mounting the claws to it.

It says in the store description, "Can be held in place using blade thumb screw or seperate screw." But there are both 8/32 and a 10/32 thumb screw offered in the store.

The claw mount mounting hole is not threaded. I would use a 10-32 as its about the size of the hole but a 8-32 would work also.
