Well this was posted over at TDH but I doubt any of you have seen it so I'll post it here as well. Any comments, criticism, and questions are welcome. There are small details that need to be added but its almost done.

I look forward to seeing you in full armor.
I really love the age and scarring details you put in.
Makes it looked lived in.......Great Job!

I agree with Tenric, the aging and scaring look awsome. A couple of questions though. What kind of supplies did you use? What are you going to mount the breast plates on. Keep us posted.

Alright so I have been working on this for a long time and I have posted even more progress pics on TDH. In the end, this will be converted to a boba fett rotj, fiberglass molded, then the dent will be filled, sanded smooth, and molded again with fiberglass for a jango, and last but not least, the back portion with the cutouts where the mq1 board will go, it will be filled and sanded smooth, and molded in fiberglass for custom mandolorians.

Anyways to answer your question Zecks, I used fiberglass and body filler to smooth it out. I am also planning on using a boba fett flak vest to mount the plates on. I know a great method that a guy who goes by the name bobamaker showed.

Here it is filled, sanded and primered

Filled even more.

And finally last night I got to add details before I ran out of glue

I guess i'd best get on here too.
Most of you saw my Jango Rubies bucket I picked up afew months back, well I now have the chest armor & flight suit being sent my way.
Will post pics when they arrive.
I'll be going custom Mando.

CD, you know Bobamaker is a brit, right?
His stuff is top notch from what I here. (I'll be getting my vest, visor & targeter from him soon!)

For those that are interested, here's his site:

Yep I figured that out hence the .co.uk in his sites URL. Everything in my costume will be scratchbuilt, The flakvest will be scratchbuilt so its a bit thicker than usual.

I know in the future I am getting a full bobamaker kit with all the goodies to make my own ROTJ boba.

The helmet has been getting prepped for a fiberglass mold of it tomorow

3 layers of wax have been rubbed on it. 17 more to go...

Guys, dont worry, I am still working on the costume itself and I am almost done with the helmet, just need to finish the details and the earpieces. I decided to scrap the molding route, as that would be too time consuming for me. So Ill just finish up the costume and join the brotherhood of the sith? lol. It is a sith geared costume.

CD, do you know where to get the motor for the targeting scope besides the guys on 501st?

That's where most people seem to be pointing.
I'm in no rush for it as all I have is the bucket, flightsuit & chest plates so far, i'm just thinking of picking one up further down the line.

Are you talking about the motor for the rangefinder?

If so, I believe hyperdyne sells them.

Not yet, i have been very busy recently and I couldnt do anything.

I have even worse news, The helmet I have been working on literally exploded haha.

When you wax up your helmet in preperation for molding it tends to get slippery. So you can probably guess what happened. It dropped from 2 stories while I was transfering it to my car. I feel so stupid I just want to slap myself silly. There is a giant crack going through it which I can fix but I would rather start fresh. There were some bad parts on it that I didnt like too much.

Barmic Rin
03-19-2008, 04:51 PM
Custom. too many fetts out there.

Am thinking Green, Tan & Brown, with a Yellowy- Orange T.
Also want to have a Basilisk (the monster, not the mando vehicle) on right chest plate, but haven't decided a colour for that.

Getting the bits, but not the time to work on it!

That's Deathwatch (an offshoot of Mando)

Was thinking of this...

Or this... (slightly different green though)

And something like this for the Basilisk on the chestplate...

The helmet weighs around 5 pounds.....
