I still have lots to do, but here it is with with most of the cutting, shaping, and test fitting done. The real work begins after the paper and tape comes off, all the little detail work to get everything looking just right. The hose clamp is just there to hold stuff in place till it gets fastened securly, heh. More pics as it progresses.

Wow, that is simply an amazing saber. I love the color scheme, and the battery door is genius. I must say, you have exceptional talent.

Beautiful Work, Treadingwolf.

TreadingWolf - that's fantastic! Awesome design, love the finish on the green/black parts and nice touch the way the battery cover hinges open.

How did you achieve the finish on the green/black bit? It has a hammered/dimpled look as well, i was wondering if that's an effect of the paint or if you did stuff to the metal pieces before painting to achieve that?

Thanks for sharing the pics.

Thanks everyone, i am glad you all like it. :D
As far as the paint, it is a hammered finish spray paint for metals, i roughed up the parts with a flap wheel, then 2 coats primer and 3 coats of green to beef up the pieces and make nice definition between them.
The final part was a few very light dusting with black hammer finish spray paint, was kinda tough as the wind only wanted to gust right as i started spraying the black. hehe

Could you take a picture of how you get the batteries out? I only see two AA's, and I'm assuming that there are a few more (or one more). I love that door, and I want to see the full working motion.

Wow, that is clever. I may try this on one of my sabers.
