Here are pics of the supplys that he picked up. they will be links as the pics are huge.

These are just some items. iam sure he will pick up more later.

He plans on seting up a led+crystal inside it that lights up when the holocron opens up.

Its based on a story he read a while back that some sith found his pure(as aposed to synthetic) sith crystal inside the holocron.

He Is gonna have his mom do some aurabesh work with the paint and hes gonna have her do some paint work on his 1.25 sinktube saber.
I still need to work out a plan I was gonna do to the hilt.

But anyway here are the items for the holocron.

I figured a couple ideas fo how to make it open up and light up and such.

You know on some tv entertainment centers with glass doors? I figured take something like that and put it in there someway some how.

The device iam talking about is them that have a magnet on it and a piece of metal on the glass door, then you close it the magnet and metal connect then to close it further you push it in to lock inplace.

Then a small momentary switch in the bottem of "door" of the holocron when it opens it lights up a red crystal.

I was thinking of making use of the whole holocron stores information. so I was thinking of a base that has a port to a usb or sd card or something and set it up to store whatever.

Of course THAT PB doesn't go into it! It's smooth! It's crunchy Peanut butter that powers a sith Holocron!!!!! Sheesh, don't you guys know anything!?!!!!

I picked a couple of these up from one of the shopping channels a while back, being 3" x 3" x 3", they fit the hand quite well for a jedi holocron.
they even have various modes at the press of the button so the tri-col LED can be constant one colour, cycle through the three, or blend.
Worked out about £5 each inc shipping.

I've been wanting to make a Jedi holocron for years, but I've never really gotten any further than getting some of the materials.

I picked up a couple of acrylic base ball cubes, and a golf ball cube. I may eventually to 2. One a cube within a cube, and maybe lit from the bottom on a base, and one with lights inside.

For lights, I have a lighted base meant for one of those laser cut acrylic sculptures that I'll dismantle for the inside of one, it scrolls through yellow blue and red LEDs. And I have a pumpkin light, with red, green and blue LEDs that I'd repaint and make a base out of.

I'm still figuring out how I want to decorate the sides of these. I will probably frost them on the inside.

They are on my "to do" list, along with a Jedi communicator and a holoprojector.

Well J-lo, I like mine, as they have a funky frosted effect to them, so when the batteries are going, the corners remain dark.

Will have to take one apart soon.....

Variety is good. Use what you like, or what you can find.

They sound kind of cool. How bright are they? :)

Well, they run on 3AAA's.
As it's a tri-col, the red is unimpressive, though the green & blue are kinda cool. Think light-tech blade kind of glow.
I personally have never pictured Holocrons as glaringly bright, so these are ideal for my interpretation.
Will post pics when I get a chance.
