Hi folks,

I tried to search this subject but came up empty. Has anyone tried to build a rechargeable pack using Sony Energytec STG, Part No US18650GR G3 Lithium Ion Grahphite cells?

3.7 Volt
G3 = 1800mAh
US18650 = Hard carbon, 18mm thick, 65mm long, height = 0 (cylindrical)

I have enough of these to build (6) 7.7 volt 4-cell battery packs.

Think these would make good rechargeable battery packs for the Luxeon III saber with CF v3.0?

I saw this and hoped it was cross posted... I moved this to an appropriate forum. Misc wasn't a good spot at all.

Those will work perfectly fine. They are lower on the mAh than some others you can obtain, but if you already have them they'll work fine.

If you can fit a four cell pack in your saber, kudos... use them. The one caution would be protection. If they aren't protected cells... probably not since it seems likely you ripped these out of another device... they'll need an IC protector for overdrain and charge.

1800mAh for a III will give you two hours at least, probably three. A four cell will give awesome runtimes.

Yeah, these came out of some new Dell laptop battery packs. Dell replaced them from the ones that had problems. They sent me 4 packs with 8 batteries each.

Well darn, I just tested the fitment in the Vader ESB hilt. Too big.... If the tube was just a 0.25" bigger, they would work....

Probly work great in a custom saber setup...

I figured while I was researching if I could use these 18650 Li-Ion batteries. I would provide some more info..

Newer 18650s have the PCB built into the batteries. So no need to purchase a PCB seperately.

In my case, I don't want to chunk these so I must purchase a PCB.

This one will work nicely..
