Hi, I just got a Cyan Lux3 and a Luke 2005 RotJ MR board and was wondering if i should use the MR board to power the LED or use a relay direct drive configuration? I am looking for the maximum brightness and running time.

Also how many batteries does the MR board and the LED need together? It read the original board uses 6AA but that is a bit too much i think and was wondering if i and get away with 4 NiMH 1.2V batteries? If i use 3 1.2v NiMH would i even need a resistor or should i stick with 4 batteries?

thx

That's an oxymoron... you can't really have both. If you want wax brightness the board won't give it. If you want longer run-times you'll probably get that with the board.

Also, the original is 6AA... but it's still 4.5V. So 4.8V of NiMH will do fine.
