Picked up this saber from Sithlord. Any info on what I need to convert it, parts and so on ( no sound of coarse)? I know its a prop and it might be to complex for me. Anyhow can anyone point me in the right direction? Perhaps my its best just to let Tim or X-wing do it. BTW it would be my first project. Heres the saber, thanks:

I know X-Wing did one with erv's driver and a rebel, he should be able to help.

You bought the stunt version... it's only hollow to only 3/4" the whole way. I really have no flipping clue how easy it would be to do what I did.

I can guess, but it'd be just that. If it is a 1 1/8" rod the whole way you can probably cut it and find another more hollow tube to insert inside it. That would bring it closer... next hurdle would be the switch. When I do the EL compatible ones they come with one already. You might have to settle for a less than exact looking one.

X-wing,
According to Sethski on fx forum:
"its hollow and yes, it was put together, and can be taken apart..hollow all the way from mouth to pommel...so I am fairly certain you could, but never did it."

Check the link, thanks:

Yeah, but my impression is its I.D. is 3/4". Hollow all the way through at 3/4" isn't going to help much... you can't fit anything decent in that.

That's what my previous guess was based on. It should be easy to see though... if you open the pommel and the grip area is more than 3/4" ID it can be worked with easier.

How does it look disassembled?

I believe that you could fit many batteries inside the handgrip and pommel. Fitting a driver board and a speaker might be the real challenge. All the electronics and LED need to be near the top, where space is scarce also lengthwise.
I think that maybe you could cut the inner tube inside the grip open lengthwise on the side that isn't visible, and thus gain more space.

Yes, the question and response through eBay questions were:

"Hi - is this a solid hilt, or does it have room inside for possible installation of electronics? If so, does it dissemble? Thanks."

"its hollow and yes, it was put together, and can be taken apart..hollow all the way from mouth to pommel...so I am fairly certain you could, but never did it."

We'll just have to wait and see.

As he was selling a few of them it'll be fun to see how we all get on and swap notes. I'm excited! :D
