What are the TCSS squadrons?

Pretty much it was an " in-joke" between us posters. I'm "x-wing" so they refered to me as "Red Leader"... it all kind of snowballed to the point I decided to make a squadron list in my sig.

How do you get on it?

ASK. It means nothing. In general it's cooler if you post here on a regular basis. Generally from left to ight in my sig is how long people have been. Red squad is generally 2005's and not http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-06.gif's or http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-07.gif's.

How long will it take to get on it?

Whenever I update it? I don't like updating it for just one person because even though I have a saved copy of it in layers there is a whole list of things I need to do before it's "up"

So if there is three or more in general I'll update it.

X-Wing I am not picky and fly what ship I am assigned by my commanding Rebel officer. But since I have flown a Y -Wing and love it's capabilites, espcially for bombing the hell out of Imperial Star Destroyers. :wink:

No... you didn't post in this thread. I have a hard time keeping track of all the PMs I get. Honestly, they aren't as important so as my inbox fills they are first to get deleted.

I went by Arkai's list. There are still two Gold spots.

I'll start green after that. That requires creating the little badge and more work so I'll hold on that. I'm out of admins to put in the first spot too...

What about adding yourself in the first spot? Since you're "Xwingband", I suppose that would make sense for you to be Red 1 though, since those are X wings. Then Strydur could be Blue 1, I could be Gold 1 and Sabergirl could be Green one, or however it would work out. I can be put anywhere really.

I was going off of the X-Wing game series (which actually had quite an impact on the EU). In that game, the squadron names are basically just whatever; they don't have a set ship constitution.

That is just a proposal, not based on anything. Really, none of this S is real anyway so it makes little difference. Just as long as I get to fly a TIE Advance, LoL

I think it'd make sense to have it go like this, just for convenience:

Alpha: TIE Fighters
Beta: TIE Bombers
Gamma: TIE Interceptors
Omega: TIE Advanced

Those are ranked in the order of most-to-least common. The only forseeable problem is that TIE Fighters kinda suck, and most people would likely rather be a part of the TIE Interceptor or Advanced squadron.

Xwing dude! the lines are growing longer. I know there gold squad is full now after requests and there are more than just a couple for green squad so please? Hard thing with forums it's hard to tell how your sayingnthings, so I just want to let you know I'm not mad or impatient and don't want to rush you. But does it require that much work to add us to the squads?

I don't think they're santioned...I think it's more or less for the fun of it. I guess anyone can make up a squadron and I guess it's up to the members if they want to join or not.

I mentioned making a squadron to see if I could help xwing out since taking the time to do it is something that he is not really interested in. (See his previous posting, Xwing: If I spoke out of context, forgive me.)

I'm just trying to help out since other mebers are interested in an Imperial squadron.

these arent really sanctioned squads... its really just a way to keep try of who has been an active member here. its only the more recent posters who seem desperate to be part of the squadrens...
I offered to help, but Im not going to push the matter... Xwing will get to do what he thinks is best when the time comes...
as far as making up your own squadren... the Seafoam Squadren is around here somewhere... lol

If someone wants to start imperial squadrons that's fine. I only request that the format stay the same.

Meaning: a similar logo, a logical name structure (like I suggested alpha, beta, etc...) and it sticks to 12.

Xwing...I'll be happy to start the squad but can you point me in the right direction of the icons you used? I can get regular pics but that won't be the same as the icons you used...No prob about the format 12 per squadron and something similiar/simple for the names. I would want to think about the naming structure though, Alpha, Bravo Charlie or something similiar wouldn't be fitting to Imperial squardrons.

You can make the logo however you want. I started with one that was supossed to be for "Incom" and modded the others from there.

Just a simple vector like picture. Nothing fancy liek if it had to be made into a patch.

For reference, these were for fun. I started as an in joke and for giggles I decided to start actually putting something to it. From then I posted it in my sig and it's been that way for a while. In general the people in them have been around longer, but other than the oldies in Red it doesn't mean terribly much.

Gee, what makes you people think you deserve to start out in the Tie Advance squadron.

Most imperial fighters were Tie Fighters. Being they were quote:

"Sienar Systems' basic TIE Fighter—a commodity which, after hydrogen and stupidity, was the most plentiful in the galaxy."

You truly have to be strong in the force, not to blow up, when fighting in an unshielded fighter, against he X-wing and the A-wings. Even if they often was fighting in great numbers, they had high casualties.

Only when you mastered this craft, were you allowed to pilot a better craft.
They were reserved for the elite.

So actually, in the Imperial navy, all pilots should start in the Tie Fighter or Tie bomber squadron, and if they are still active next year and deserve it (high poster in year), they should be upgraded next year to Tie Interceptor, then Tie Defenders, then Tie Advance ++. Not necessarily in that order. This would mean there would be a lot of Tie Fighter squadrons, but only a few Tie Advance pilots.

But I guess a lot of you will disagree. :)

Well as far as I'm concerned I am now Mauve 13, co-pilot second class of the 25th Imperial refuse collection fleet. Our motto just became "Cleansing the way for the Galactic Empire", and let's face it, considering how fragile TIEs are, we have our work cut out just clearing the spaceways of debris!

It's not all fame and glory though, have you ever seen the aftermath left by a rancor after he's downed 3 crates of Budweiser, 12 Southern Comfort chasers and 125 pounds of rebel-madras?... TIE pilots have got it easy I tell you...

Seafoam was made as an only half sarcastic reaction to a rash of demands on poor X for people to be added into his squadrons or for other people to make ones they could join. I whipped up a friendly mocking banner and after a lengthy self debate over whether to use Seafoam or Baja Mist as the color I went with Seafoam.

The point is, if you want a squadron make one, if you don't want to make one there is always Seafoam. No lists, no insignia, no entry test or fees. If you want to join Seafoam you are already a member. Seafoam, it's a state of mind!

Hey all a question.

Would anyone consider it inappropriate if I were to form a squadron I know I am relatively new to the forums but have been a long time lurker without and active account

there is one in particular I would love to form as I am a fan of the novels.

my favorite squad has been Wraith Squadron.


So if no one has issues with it I would like to form up that squadron I will make sigs and appropriate icons I will create.

Hopefully this meets with everyone's approval.
