I finally finished my highly customized MR FX sabers. 3w LED conversion.
If you have any questions feel free to ask. One is an anakin and one is a Vader. The grip on the anakin is electrical tape for now, until I can get ahold of golf club grip wrapping.

I was trying to go for a "wrapped" grip on it. Thats why I am going with the golf wrap.

I got some better pictures of these sabers, and added the leather wrapping to the anakin mod.

I would suggest skipping the golf wrap (too thick) and find yourself some "rubber repair tape". Its a rubber that when stretched to 3 times it's normal length, wraps tightly on itself and vulcanizes. You'll be left with a very nice rubber grip that won't be sticky and it doesn't pick up oils and stuff from your hands.

The stuff can be found at Wal Mart in their little plumbing section for like $4 a roll. It's in a yellow package. One roll is enough to easily wrap 2 saber grips. I would recommend wrapping it semi-tight from pommel to midband, loose and wide from midband to pommel, then really tight from pommel to midband again. This way, there is no chance of the stuff splitting on you from being stretched, and you have a nice layer on there that is not too bulky.

The wrap I have on there I am pretty happy with, it feels nice and doesn't look too bad because it's real leather. It's a nice thick strip too, but not too thick.
