Hi, i was at Toysrus looking at MR sabers when i saw there were a bunch of Tyco lithium battery packs complete with charger on clearance and was wondering can I use this to power a K2 Blue star?

The battery looked like 4 AA stack on top of each other and would fit in a 1.25" or 1.50" tube

I would only use their charger for sure. But I guess sure, it should work.

When it comes to rechargeables I generally try to not skimp and hack it. I'm going to save anyways by being rechargables, so I don't like a "hackish" solution.

7.2v is quite a bit for a K2 blue. Seeing as the K2 only really needs about 4v.

yeah, like in my airsoft AK47's i have. i got 8.4v packs, that vary between 1200, and 1800 mah.

those might could be used with a puck for led, and maybe a accent led too.

but i dont know how long they would last. probably not long.

use a buck puck or a driver board (Erv's or Ultra's) and you'll be fine with no heat issues.

I would not use a resistor on that voltage, as you would have some heat issues then, I suspect.
