Hi, I was looking around the forum on suggestion on which version i should use to make my saber and found this

Old (1995) Luke - crappy sound, motion, flash on clash. The clash sensor is ridiculously large - NOT a good board for custom hilts
Anakin AOTC - crappy sound, no motion, flash
Anakin ROTS - great sound, no motion, no flash, color change(2 switcheable outputs, but the switch is board mounted and a hell to install, so the switcheable outputs "feature" is virtually useless. Still, a good board for customs
Yoda training - crappy all the way - yoda talk switch, low volume, crappy sound, flash, no motion, break really fast
Obi ROTS - great sound, no motion, flash on clash, but also the motor output - good to use with Corbin's C&L feature
Obi AOTC - the old models and the new, repackaged 8 dollar ones - I found them to be the same. Crappy sound, no motion, but NO FLASH on clash.
Old Vader ROTJ - The best board in my opinion - great sounds, motion sensor, no flash on clash. Almost impossible to find, except packaged with the helmet at $50
Windu/Dooku/QGonn/generic - all use the same board - great sound, motion sensor, but they all have that stupid flashing on clash.

But when I arrived at Toys-r-us i couldn't tell which saber is from which movie, All it said was Obi-Wan Kenobi Electric Saber Force Action and had a pic of McGregor, was this one from AOTC or ROTS? also i saw a box with Darth Vader on it but i didn't know which movie that saber was from either but it looked pretty old.

Are there any Hasbro boards with teh following features?

Activation and Power down Sounds
Humming and Motion Whirling Sounds
Flash and Clash Sounds
Motor

Also can anyone tell me why the Flashing lights is bad?

Can anyone help

For everything you want I would suggest erv's crystal focus board (and probably won't be the only one to do so)

anyone on AIM wanna help me out real quick? I just have a few simple questions. My AIM is Scionified

Oh and the Crystal Focus sounds really nice if i had the cash for it, doesn;t it cost like $80? This is my first saber so i wanna try to stay under $60 until i am ready to go all out on my next saber.

Also these are some of the box art i was able to find online

I thought a CF was closer to $150. If it was only $80, I could probably swing that. Because I need something.

The Obi-wan saber in your post would have all of that.

The reason the clash on flash is such a bad thing for must of us is that it's more of a strobe. It goes fully on and off... really annoying to most.

oh my bad i was thinking of the Ultraboard or something. Also which of the obi-wan sabers? theres 2 differenet packagings

Since the flashing is so bad is there someway i could disable that, i liek the idea of a vibration motor? Also does the obi wan have the motion sound when you whirl it around?

Also you said that the old Vader saber is the best but which of those boxes is the old ROTJ vader one?

No one has found a way to disable the flash on clash on those boards with ruining the board.

As far as the sabers go, this one:
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c348/Tekka1/418HJ3230NL__SS500_.jpg

Is the Episode III saber, packaging is from the Saga Collection, I think. It does not have motion activated swing sounds, at least mine doesn't anyway. The vibration motor only kicks in during an impact on the blade, and lasts as long as the flashing of the blade, which is pretty bad on this one. Every other impact also plays back a swing after the clash effect.

This one:

Is the force Action style from Ep. I & II, packaging is from the 30th Anniversary collection, I think. My son has this one, and it does have the motion activated swing sounds, but no vibration motor. blade flashes on clash with this one as well, but it's actually not as annoying on this saber, as it seems to have been toned down a bit. It flashes faster, so it's so apparent. Both of them have okay power up and down effects, and a decent hum.

if the flashing is as bad as you say guess i'll go with the vader ones like u suggested but which of the vaders is the better saber.

I guess motor isn't as important me, i just want something that has the Motion Activated Swing sound, battle clash sound, and no flashing lights.

Btw thx so much for your help, it's making it alot easier on me since i've never built a saber before

thx agian

Actually, if I were going to use any of the boards from the three Hasbro's you have pictured, I'd go with the force-action Obi-wan.

Today I found a Dooku and Mace at a local Target. Would you reccomend those or would you still reccomend the Obi? Sorry for asking so many questions but of ALL the hasbro's which is the best and why? Again sorry for the questions i just don;'t wanna waste $20 getting a lame soundboard.

thanks again

Today I found a Dooku and Mace at a local Target.

If you don't think you'll like the flash on clash function, then those are the boards to use. Either of them are okay. Most opinions of the hasbro's are that they are all lame sounding, but are better than no sound at all in your custom saber.

Does anybody else like the flashing? I have yet to actually see what it does to a LED saber.
