i got this far when i realized the mhs inserts OD was the same as the tube OD. DOH!

Back to square one hehe.

I used part of a blade from the hasbro i gutted to incase the electronics. It also worked nicely as a resonance chamber at the same time. :D

I came up with this as a solution to haveing to twist off twist on any parts to replace the batteries.

very cool man, I like the battery compartment. can we get a better pic of the board speaker holder?

Well i only took the on photo of that particular piece. Its the 2nd section of tubing from the biggest in the hasbro spring loaded sabers. Its has a nice curled stiffener at the bottom, that fits the speaker sold here like a glove. I dropped the speaker in and sandwiched it in place by drilling a hole for the push on/off switch, and inserting the switch through the hole in the tubing and the hole in the sink tube, thus holding the whole works in place.

I closed up the backside by being lazy and just wraping it all up with electric tape. :P

Great job, very nice!

Nice design on the battery hatch. Saves a lot of screwing around. (Pun intended. :) )

What did you use for the pommel?

The pommel looks like some sort of faucet handle that he's painted.

Yes the pommel is a cheap shower knob from home depot, painted with Rust-o-leum (hammered finish) for a kind of grainy texture look.
After twisting the wires out of my sons saber replacing the batteries i knew i had to find a better way, the battery compartment came to me as i was drawing up this saber. i am glad you guys like the idea :D

Looks great! I've got a Home Depot like right on the other side of my back wall, seriously. Maybe I should go buy some things and try to throw one together. 8)

By the by Treading, when are you going to start mass production and export them to Brazil? I'm sure they'd love to get their hands on them. *lol* (Sorry, I had to. It was just begging for me to make a comment. )

Sweet looking saber. I like the little touches, like the opening battery compartment. So different from what the rest of us usually do (or will do 8) ).

A compartment like that would be really handy for accessing the SD card on a crystal focus.

Wow... That battery compartment... simple, yet BRILLIANT! I'm gonna go change my design for my first saber now and utilize a similar idea.
