Just a warning before I get started, the image I will link is very large to show what little detail it has.

I recently drew up this saber idea and I decided to open up my cad program.
Keep in mind, that this is my first time EVER using any sort of CAD software.
I kept the design pretty simple, it will have a few more details after its built, like rubber grips on the handle and rubber o-rings in the grooves that you see. I'm hoping to have a green lux in it with full sound. I would like to make some type of PVC shuttle for all electronics and probably a quick change kit for the lux.
Well, here it is. http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/7297/mysaberyx6.jpg

I would appreciate any comments and ideas, or if anyone wants to have a hand at rendering it themselves. I would love to see some other peoples versions/tweaks even if its just a drawing.
Thanks.

Plain, simple, I like it.

Very Kenobi/ Bane.

Thanks, thats kind of what I was going for.
I'm still trying to figure out who can mill it for me, I was talking with Tim and he's a bit too busy to take on the project.

I like it too, simple and nice. By the way, which CAD software did you use? Is it easy to learn?

There's others on here that can do it, just ask real nice!

Most will use TCSS parts where they can, so everybody is a winner!

You know, you could make a saber very similar to this using only MHS parts. I've done a drawing to show you. Try using blade holder 5, a 2 inch double threaded connector, the ribbed extension, gender changer, another 2 inch double threaded connector, and MPS pommel 1. A piece of aluminum tubing could be cut to fit at the bottom where your grip gets a bit wider.

....Or you could do that I guess...... :P

Well think of it this way, using pre-made parts will save you the expense of having custom parts machined, and that money can then be used to buy more sabers and better electronics. And honestly, who doesn't want that? :D

Awesome idea render. I may just do that.

Awesome job, hon! I wish I could do stuff like that. I should give you all my ideas to work with in 3-D!

Love ya!

Well I don't know which render you were complimenting, although since this is Valeon's thread I'll assume you meant him. However, I've been known to draw a few member's designs in 3D for them, so feel free to ask me sometime.

Looks a tiny bit bland to me. No offense or nothing. I think you could do a little more with the ring thing or add a couple grips. That's my take.

Sorry, but this idea has long been tossed aside, I was planning on grips at the bottom of it, but I don't see the point anymore. If anyone wants this to use, feel free.
