So this is what I wanted to recreate.

I bought these glow staffs in the ¾” thickness, they are the “thin staff without ball ends” you can see in the picture.

But the light quality between the two red standard LED light in each staff was iffy at best and did not show up that well in photo’s, not to mention the batteries tended to not be able to power the lights at full strength for more then two hours at a time.
I was wondering if there is a way I could use the staff part of these to make proper sabers (minus the fancy hilt) or should I just try to sale them off and start from scratch.
Also dose anyone have any advise about what I should use to make a black hilt so that I can be less noticeable against the black gloves (it’s all about illusion lol)
