i like the hood on the jedi. overall i say it'll look great although like visas adding some pattern to the hem of the veil would be cool, something simple maybe?

It was originally supposed to be a blindfold. wasn't to sure if the veil would be masculine enough.

hero machine rocks. you can get version 2 at UGO.com or you can buy theupgraded version. I haven't bought it yet, cause that would take money away from my lightsabers.

sun glasses?

I would go with something more tetnical to cover the eyes.

From what I understand is the marluka see thru the force, I would come up with some kinda way to do a visor thing of sorts that can inhance the vision to see more clearly. The way I understand it there vision based thru the force isent that clear and limited, Like a horse with blinders.

Maybe that could be more techno-cool cause the sunglasses dont work.

Awsome idea, I love it, but the idea dosent leave much for vision for the costumer.

Well, technically, my charactor is only half miraluka.
the only male miraluka i've been able to find is Jerec, and his blindfold looked alot like sunglasses.

I'm still playing with the idea though.

I'd have the blind fold wrapped round twice, covering one eye either time, and in a mid-green with no real decoration.
Liking the simplicity of the first one to be honest.

you could even do some type of shroud....almost like a half mask. anything but the sunglasses. please....

it's supposed to be a really form fitting blindfold.

what about something like a modified masquerade/highwayman mask? You know, the standard shape, but with no eye-holes. Or rather some black material you can actually see through in place of eye holes.
Some carnival mask places on the net actually make them in form fitting leather that would be comfortable and spiffy (in a dark, goes-with-the-evil-looking-costume kinda way)

ArkaiHalon
10-17-2007, 04:23 PM
Does the costume look evil? does the background throw it off?
the overall concept is more of a grey jedi. Still light side, but not really
in line with the order at large.

Ah, I see. Well, then grey leather mask then. Perhaps think more along the lines of The Man in Black from The Princess Bride

I think if you get something real thin, enough to just cover your eyes, that would form fit pretty well.

Very great. I recently re-watched it and read the book. I think Inigo Montoya is one of the best characters in any film.
BTW anyone seen the SW fan film 'Brains and Steel' based on the sword fight scene from Princess Bride?

ArkaiHalon

I've been watching an auction on ebay all week for a set of tabards and obi
.
got out bid at the last minute.

That sux, Arkai. I hate it when that happens! However, the tabbards and obi are the easiest part to make if you know someone that can sew.

I went to the fabric store this morning. I'm actually pretty decent at sewing, but if I could have got these, would have saved me the trouble.

using the karate gi my wife bought me as a base.
custom made tabards, obi (still working on the obi) and
the pride of my day is the custom belt. Took me all day to antique it.

Thanks for the feed back guys. I'm really happy with how it's turning out, and feel its pretty true to my final design. other than the fact I'm not built like an acrobat, more of a wrecking ball.

Dude, don't even worry about it, I'm no supermodel either. Im 5'9" 225 lbs. I find that even on us folk, jedi robes look sweet. I can't wait for my costume to be done, It's gonna look awesome.

Still working on a blindfold that will allow me to see, but in the mean time, here's a close up of the belt, and a full body shot. I will end up buying different boots, as the ones I have are for riding, NOT walking.

Looking good!

In my opinion, you need some good looking black motorcycle boots to complete the look. I had a quick look on eBay and found these:

Not sure what you had in mind though.

Still working on a blindfold that will allow me to see,

Not a fan of Angelus' 'Dandy Highwayman' idea then?
You could always get the rest of the outfit later......

Gotta love 80's nostalgia!

Seriously, try www.Flagshipeclipse.com for their ideas. Plenty of Laydees on there have done rather successful Visas outfits, with the veil.
