The front would have the store logo either over breast or in middle of chest and the back would say-

<font color="blue"> "It is sometimes hard to tell the differences between Races, Blasters, Speeders, Apprentices, Masters
But its never hard to see the differences between a Custom Saber Shop
saber and everything else"</font id="blue">

I hope to add more later.

ENTRY#2

A quality saber can be the difference between winning and getting a limb loped off. Thats why I only use www. thecustomsabershop .com

ENTRY#3

Have you ever asked yourself <font color="blue">Why do I keep losing? Why do my sabers keep breaking, shorting out or blowing up? How come I'm the only one of my friends to be half cybernetic?</font id="blue">
Maybe its because your not using parts form The Custom Saber Shop.

www. thecustomsabershop .com

NOTE: Both would have logo over breast or middle of chest.

I personally think a smaller TCSS logo on the front left breast is nicer than a large logo on the center front of a shirt. But that's just my personal taste.

Here is my second entry. Printed on the back.

http://www.geocities.com/projectstm/temp/lightsaberwarning.JPG

I would not suggest using that actual photo. I think there is a copyright on it. But you get the idea.

Left breast = TCSS Logo

Back = crossed sabers with the saying above their intersection

Saying = "Helping you build YOUR part of the saga!"- my own thought, not a direct quote of anyone.

then the web address underneath

I like xwingband's idea, so far. It's simple yet profound, but it offers more than just some splashy art or some tribal graphics crap. If owned the saber shop, I'd go with something pretty close to that.

Thank you for the nice comments. I have no idea what Tim wants. I just tried to go for what I'd want as the owner and a fan. The phrase itself came from trying to avoid the word Jedi since I'm sure it's trademarked.[:p]

I'll probably brainstorm another idea tomorrow as I have a two hour lecture which is absolutly boring. My laptop and photoshop should keep me entertained.[:D]

Would the word "Padawan" be trademarked like Jedi? How about "apprentice", "student", or "pupil"? This would also account for those of us who are going through Sith training and not Jedi.

Padawan is not trademarked since Lucas didn't make it up. You can't trademark a common language word.

If you're unsure check: http://www.uspto.gov/ It should be common sense though.

Second entry:
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b394/reelbigporter/t-shirt2.jpg

The design is interchangable with my previous one. All parts can be mixed and matched if you like one aspect but not the other.[8D]

I didn't know it was a common language word, sorry. I Googled it and everything I found related it to a Jedi in training. So what is the real world definition of padawan?

I can't find it in on any dictionary but he doesn't have a trademark on it (I checked). I suspect it means learner or apprentice in another language (Chinese I bet since there seems to be an area named that there).

Yeah, i checked out the Patent and Trademark office as you said. I've gone there often looking up patents, first time I used it for trademarks, very useful. I could not find a definition for padawan there too. So you are right, no trademark. I found Yoda in there, that was cool. [:D]

This contest is supposed to be fun, so let's all deflate our egos and go back to designing, please.

I'm simply stating my opinion about his comment... Thats IF it was even aimed me (which I do think that it was). Nobody likes to hear offhand veiled comments about their work, especially when its something that they were doing as a courtesy for someone else.

Did you see me (or anyone else) making any negative comments? No.

If he wants to bring something negative to the thread, thats fine, but don't expect me (or anyone else) to sit back and take it. I'm certainly entitled to defend my work (as is anyone thats targeted with a stupid comment).

Thats all that I'll say on the subject, for now. But yes, you guys are right... Lets get back to designing some cool shirts.

EDIT-

BTW, I tweaked my designs a little bit on the first page. Just refresh your browser if you want to see them.

*cups of Jawa juice all around*

Now, for my own submission...

Front: Small logo on left breast
Back: "Your skills are now complete."

I think lots of graphics all over the shirts may clutter it up, not to mention it'd be much more expensive for Tim to have them screen printed in 4-color.

<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">

Yeah, thats why I was trying to keep my design limited to a small box on the front, and plain white lettering on the back.

Should we maybe keep the designs limited to one color (black/white)?

Tim...?

I will be doing the logo in full color. 4-6 colors sounds about right.

Definitely no jab at all. Yours looks great. All of them look great. And, a couple of them are hilarious. But, xwingband's stood out. And, you must admit, that things go in cycles. Language, fashion, music genres, etc. And the tribal thing is almost a dead horse, imho, and if not, at least it isn't anything new or surprising. What would surprise me would be of someone would start using some different tribal art that looks like Tibetan sanscrit, native american picture writing, heiroglyphics, runes, dragon tooh, celtic, or something else other than the "thorny vines" thing. And I don't even know what tribal affiliation thorny vines has. I'm sick of it. <blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote">Originally posted by Devilstar2k2

Its okay, I see your point... That post just rubbed me the wrong way. I guess its because I also post on another forum thats full of that kind of stuff, and I was hoping that this one would be different. I'm glad to hear that it wasn't a jab at that particular design. Thanks for the clarification as to why you made the comment, and what you meant by it. No hard feelings? [:p]

BTW, I removed the 'hot sauce' shirt, it was just silly. You may have to refresh your browser on the first page to see my final entries.
