Hey Strydur, I was wondering, since the LED hilt kit isn't on the site as of now, could you post a list of all the parts I need so I can buy them separately?

The kit is not on the site because I dont have all of the parts for sale at the moment.

Crud. That sucks. Ooookay then. Well, me and my money'll be waiting.[:D]

Oh, also, when you do get the hilt kits back in stock, how much will they be? I need to figure out how much money to set aside.

If you have to ask, then you can't afford it!

LOL - JK!
If you are referring to the LED sink tube kit, I think they were about 1/2 the cost of the LED MHS kit. But please don't quote me on that, after all, it's not my store.

I hope I'm putting this in the right place. If I don't want to use the MHS blade holder what else would you recomend that I use to hold the blade. I'm kind of on a tight budget right now.

Tim will soon (I hope!) have a blade holder (or an attachment to his existing holders) in stock that can fit inside your sink tube (assuming that's what you're using as your hilt). It's the same as the one in the Modular Hilt System, but compatible with the 1.5 tubes.

Tim, I mean absolutely no disrespect towards you or your store (let's face it, we all know you rock!), and I know you're sick of hearing this from everyone, but man oh man, those holders are slow in coming, brother. Any news on 'em?

GrimaOllak thanks for the repley. I'm not using a sink tub. I'm using a sink drain. I'm using the bottom portion of the sink drain along with a graflex 2 cell holder. I think the diamiter is 1.25. So do you have any other ideas for blade holders. Tim do you have any sugestion. Thank you for your help.

@nich:

I think I recall, in another thread, Tim saying he could machine down the holder to fit into certain tubes, but I dunno, 1.25 may be a little too far to machine.

Sorry I can't be of more help. Hopefully Tim will come along and answer you.

My led holders could not be machined down that small.

Thats ok I think the reguler holder will fit. The tub is closer to 1.5 at the top and the bottom is 1.25. Thanks for the replies.

I know this is an old thread, but is there any more news on the sinktube LED holders, at least for the 1.5"? I've decided that I can't afford the MHS, or convert it easily enough, but it's going to be just as expensive if I have to get an MHS holder plus the adapter to fit the sink tube.

I thought we went through this on here. May be somwhere else.

Use the MHS with the sink tube adaptor that's what it is for [:D]
I am not trying to be a smart @$$ but how is $27.70 just as expensive as a full MHS? dude my memory is cloudy but I think Tim's old holder sold for that or more.

I meant the cost of the sink tube + equipment plus the emitter and adapter.

I've just done it now, and it costs at least $58 for the hilt "kit", and that's not including the $25 P&P (living in the UK). I'd still need the blade too.

If this is compared to the EL holder for the sink tube, which is only $13 with no adapter needed, that's $14 cheaper than the MHS emitter+adapter.

At the end of the day, I can always just go for the above option, but I truly am short of cash atm, I have a week's holiday with my friends after my exams, plus I still need to spend a LOT on the LARPing hobby which I've recently started.

I only wanted some news on the holders, since it's been 3 months since the last update on the topic. If there is no news, then nevermind.

The prevoius version of the LED holder was not that much cheaper, if at all. The old one was more work to machine because the heatsink was held with set screws. This option is much better because the heatsink "floats".

So if $10 is a burden then you might want to wait. Tim has no plans for bringing the old one back.

Using the EL holder is possible but then you're using a 3/4" blade which is not as good. Eat one less meal and buy the adapter.[:p]

Lol, alright, then. It'll be late summer (august time) before I buy this thing anyway, so I might be in time for the new, shiny emitters coming out (in fact I will be, given that they'll be out next week according to Tim).

I am really, truly, deeply looking forward to getting my own saber and duelling with some friends. I just need to decide on a colour and a hilt design. I was thinking Royal Blue, even though I think green has always been a personal favourite. Anyhow, I'll let this thread alone, and allow it to get back on topic now.
