Hey everybody, i wanted a luxeon driver and was wondering does it have to have 5 AA battery's for a 3 watt luxeon? seeing as i cant find a 5 AA battery holder :?

2AAs technically is all you need for the reds and red/orange leds...not sure about the other ones though.

it would be easiest to just use one 18650 rechargable li ion cell (http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1404). that's got enough juice and over 2 hours of constant run time.

I use 6AAs with a Corbin Driver. Its a matter of personnal preferences.

For Corbin's (and any driver) it doesn't matter a stitch for voltage. The more you can give it better (limit is 12V though).

The only rule of thumb is to get the most you are going to want around 1V more than the LED's forward voltage. Ex. Say you have an LED with a forward voltage of 3.8V... the least pack you should consider would be a 4.8V pack.
