Graflex and heiland....

Hey everybody, how long are the graflex and heiland clamps? and could they easily be drilled through? :?

graflex, 51mm long x 16 mm wide x 11 mm high

Heiland: 48mm long x 15 mm wide x 16mm high

I don't know how you want to drill into it, but they are clamps... made for clamping the flash to the camera.

I want to drill it for a momentary switch as in the ones in the shop, so can it work?

No, the ones in the shop are too big for that.

If you were to special order some I can see it happening.

you have about the size of a circuit board to work with. Its not a box, its a clamp.

The traditional MPP (not Heiland) and Graflex are actually clamps. They serve a real world purpose and unlike the MR's aren't boxes attached to a band.

If you need a latching switch in them you would really have to cut a lot. I put a slide in a Graflex clamp and it was almost more work than it's worth.

If you only need a momentary that should be much easier. You can get some small ones that you could easily drill and file to the shape needed.

The Heiland stock clamps are actually a metal block that attaches to a metal ring (clamp) by a phillips head screw.

They are rather small in comparison to an MPP or Graflex clamp. And might be workable if you have lots of patience and the right tools. :wink:
