Hi all! Just wanted to introduce myself. I go by Obi-Dar Ke-Gnomie.

I have made three non-functional hardware sabers, and one functional one that has the head of a 21 LED flashlight as an emitter.

I found this site through a listing at Ebay, and almost ruined my keyboard with my drool. I think I'm going to soak up as much info as I can here, and try my hand at a functional scratch built saber.

I tried to post photos of my sabers in the gallery area, but for some reason it didn't work. I'll try again later.

And it would have landed in your catcher tray if you'd been wearing your bib! ROFL!

Thanks for the welcome everyone! It's nice to know there are other saber lovers out there who are willing to help.

I thought I'd have a little "show and tell" and post a few pictures of my creations.

This was my first saber. Mostly PVC tubing, rubber grip glued on, and some metal doo-dads. It's simple, but I like the look of it.

My second hilt was a lot more work. The grip was a foot peg from a BMX bike. Mid-section is a 6" sink tube with slots ground out to show a ribbed rubber hose. Emitter is a shower head and different sized washers.

My third saber was made as a gift to a friend. It's loosely based on Qui-Gon's saber. I used a chrome tube from a vacuum cleaner, cut out to reveal a metal grill from a speaker. I used the head from a 21 LED flashlight, and wired it to light up. I hate the button, but it was the best I could find at the time.

My fourth model is another vacuum tube dremelled out to show black ribbed tubing. Black PVC collar to hold the buttons and a shower head for an emitter.

I'm ready now to build a fully functional saber. I'll poke around this site for a while to figure out what I want to do, then order some parts.
