I'm hooking it to my red-orange lux III I'm sure its better than the resitor thats running it now.

Well it will be under powering the reds and ambers but will be fine. the resistor will power it fully.

Hasid is right.

Lux III "light side" colors are looking for about 1A.
Lux III "dark side" colors are looking for about 1.5A.

But... never fear--0.5A is not all THAT much of a visual difference. Granted, if you want to "pimp" it out... try throwing a blue, cyan, green etc. Lux III at that driver, and look for one that can handle 1.5A and try THAT for a red, red-o, amber, etc. :)

Happy saber-ing...

onething I never understood is why thye make loeds that look for 1.5 amps, but no drivers for that...

Well dregan we have leds now that dont even have optics.

But IAm not sure how to do it or if its possable but youmight be abel to take a 1000mah driver and add a couple 350s with it to make 1700 mah driver.

I dont know its its possable. maybe nova or mars will post up something.

onething I never understood is why thye make loeds that look for 1.5 amps, but no drivers for that...Ultra's board and Erv's can drive at 1.5A.

I'm referring to the manufacturers - LED makers like Luxeon. It would seem to make sense to me if you're going to offer one thing, you offer the bits that go with it. (like LuxeonStar.com offers buckpucks)

Oh well. Not like I'm gonna use a lot of them anyway. But still.

Dregan you also have to remember that the 1.5 amps mentioned is the leds absolute maximum ratings. For 'normal' use the blue/green colours are supposed to be run at 700ma which there is a driver for and the reds/orange at 1A which there is also a driver for.

Its only newer leds like the K2's that are really designed for the higher currents and there the manufacturer drivers are lagging behind a bit. Then a agin there are 3rd party drivers out there so Im sure its not that high a priority for them. Im sure eventually they will get around to it though.

Dang, Neo is always full of some sweet wisdom! I never even thought of it that way...

I *ALWAYS* forget that it is "max continuous current". Thanks, Neo... oh, and... I haven't forgotten about that shipment I was going to make to you. I've just been a tad bit busy with BOP III, my upcoming school/fencing programs, a vacation in San Diego for myself and my gal (about a week + a cruise)... and drooling over CF v2.61... heheheh
